player plot: prom!
it's too late to back out of it.
Here it is - another player plot, oh my! What's this one you might ask? Well to all my Recollé High Wildcats, it's a night to remember: PROM!
(That's almost the last High School Musical reference, I swear.)
To those characters who aren't in high school (and please know all of you are invited!) - it's probably a night to relive old memories, a night to make sure your kids aren't getting too cozy, or the night that those crazy high schoolers set the venue on fire - haha wait... what? Click the cut for more info, but here's your OOC info post for a player plot that'll happen about a month from now on May 12th!
HOW PROM...ISING? Recollé High's prom is an annual event where students can purchase tickets (discount for couples!) to attend the dance. It's open to both upperclassmen and underclassmen, given the rather free-wheeling nature of the school. Almost considered a community event since so many local businesses are affected by it, there's a lot of room for getting involved! Expect glitz, glamour, and shenanigans!
THEMES. So I've got ideas - but to be honest, none of them are really for themes. So here's a theme suggestion top-level, and a voting bloc will go on a second OOC post from April 21st to May 5th. Please make them as Cheesy or as Dumb as you can!
PROM COMMITTEE. A chance for plotting! Here's a top-level for people to plot together about contributions! Who's offering dance lessons? Who's bringing flowers to the event? Who's willing to do alterations for those big ballooning, bedazzled prom dresses? Which students are the ones scrambling to put this glittery mess together? Let's bring the community all together for this!
CHAPERONES. Oh no - looks like allergies attacked most of the NPC staff! (Staff infection joke goes here.) There will be an especially desperate call for all non-high school characters, whether they're parents or otherwise, to act as chaperones. Teachers can expect overtime pay and college students will receive extra credit because that's totally not a terrible idea. Don't worry Mom, Dad, Uncle, Extended Cousin, Professor, Weird Hobo Off the Street - you can dress up and shine too!
PROM COURT. Names will be put in for Prom King, Prom Queen, Prom Princess, and Prom Prince. These are probably supposed to go to upperclassmen and underclassmen respectively - but for more fun, we'll say names can go anywhere. Everywhere. Everyone should get a chance for a crown! So if you sign up, just know that your character will get a chance to receive any of the titles! Results will be RNGed. To allow newbies a chance at these, the sign-ups will go up with the second OOC post for theme voting and also be open until May 5th!
FIRE? Are you telling me that you think in an AU game that prom will go normally - no, I fully welcome chaos and this is also a pretty decent time to think of Senior Pranks Going Horribly Wrong. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to leave it at this top-level to communicate with me!
THE NITTY GRITTY. To reiterate, a second OOC post for theme voting and prom court sign-ups will be going up April 21st! But when is the log actually going up, Dana? Just one more time - the answer is May 12th. Be there or be square!!

Offers: prompto will be beyond excited to offer his services as the photo guy! he has tons of filters and sells his photos for cheap, since he's not necessarily a professional (yet). he'll do selfies and proper framed pictures, and photobombs and awkward butt pictures that he has no idea even happened??

Offers: anya convinced makoto to go to prom as chaperone, and since he's got the night off work all he could say was "sure." he'll be taking anya home DON'T EVEN TRY ANYTHING FUNNY, but additional to that, his father will be lending him the car! so he can drive between four to five (if they squeeze in) or maybe a few more teens (if someone goes in the trunk/y'all sit on each other's laps) back home after prom. please, i just want him to drive teens to micky d's so they can have mcnuggets or something. ...cue horrible teen shenanigans, because lbr, makoto is also a teen pretending to have things under control.

Offers: Yu is probably (definitely) here because he wants to help out Anya and Karkat. He's the serious and organized type, so he'll be great at handling logistics and organization and all that. He'll also probably help out with organizing whatever music will be at the event, be it a live act or a DJ or whatever the case may be, so come chat with him if you want to help out with that.
