WANTED: law enforcement for a tiny murder attempt

So like Recolle's been a little short on crime right.

Yato is here to help fix that! Following a certain incident that will wrack him with anger and guilt, he's going to look for a healthy dose of revenge on the NPC who wrecked Nobu's shit (and whose life Yato happened to save months ago).

Yato would love to swordkill this NPC, but it is not to be for Reasons. So here's where I'd love to plot with some law enforcement characters looking to enforce the law! And here is also where I should warn that violence will be involved, at least initially.


So a loose game plan:

1) Yato tries to kill this NPC with an actual katana. Things will get bloody. NPC will probably need... immediate medical attention... This can take place in an obscure outdoor location for greater chance of discovery.
2) A law enforcement character interrupts before Yato can actually finish the deed. Here's a chance for an altercation! Yato is a ridiculous swordgod and will be able to cut bullets, so if you need a shooting-at-someone regain, here's your shot. HOHOHOHO
3) Provided Yato is able to make an escape from the above step, maybe a chase?! Or detective work can lead to a warrant. In the latter case, we can set up clues leading to Yato. Either way...
4) An ending in arrest! Yato isn't looking to hurt anyone other than the target of his ire, so once arrest looks unavoidable, he'll surrender.

There is a catch involved here: Yato is very easily forgotten by NPCs (deets here) so PCs may find help from NPC law enforcement to be confused and distracted! Actually Yato to NPCs is a bit like how NPCs perceive world changes in general. (There was a guy there?? Are you sure?? Hey there's another call coming in, we should check up on that lead instead!) Therefore, though they will arrive swiftly at the scene or wherever they're called, NPCs will likely be of limited help once Yato escapes their sight. It's up to you to lay down the law, Retrospeccer law enforcement!

The happy/not-so-happy ending depending on who you ask will be that Yato goes to jail, but walks out in a few weeks after being forgotten by the guards. The guards will actually have forgotten relatively quickly, he'll just be staying longer because he feels obligated lmao. If there are any law enforcers who want to play with the consequences of that, I am also down for it!

So IN SHORT I'd be happy to plot with either one very dogged PC law enforcer or a few working in conjunction. I would like to keep it a small operation for the sake of a clean timeline! If there's something you'd like to tweak to aim for a regain, I'm also very open to that. All of this would be taking place ICly sometime before the end of the month, I'm thinking sooner rather than later.

I'd be interested in Yato and Lucian having a discussion on this at some point, and having to patch up the guy Yato will be maiming would be a good stimulus I imagine lmao

What kind of regain are you looking for? Fighting/chasing/arresting/etc? I don't have anything specific plotted just yet, so since it sounds like you have a particular regain you're aiming for, I'll let you have your pick of what role Fynn will be playing!

Oh! Well, I'm trying to get Fynn to remember his days as a Guardian Corp soldier back on Cocoon. More specifically, I'm trying to get Fynn to remember when he had to shoot and kill his commanding officer, Cid Raines after the attack on the Sanctum.

So, if permitted, Fynn will be the one pulling the trigger. Of course, Yato lives but that horrible memory will come to haunt Fynn.

Tbh everyone can shoot Yato if they feel like it, so that's fine by me! Yato will not be putting his sword down voluntarily (until the arrest happens) so shooting at a dank sword-waving attempted murderer sounds like a fair decision lmao.

I'm gonna talk some more with the other copguys to see how we can slot everything together, but Fynn is absolutely welcome to shoot at Yato to his heart's content!

MAN, could we do the chase? This would be a good way to get back the memory of chasing Kai through Ba Sing Se.

Mako is ridiculously athletic, and while he won't have firebending assist, this will still be a good chance for that.

I hope Ichirou talks fast though because NPC guy might... bleed out... and have no way of stopping it... Though I read that cleanly cut off limbs can bleed surprisingly little so HAH HEY let's say Yato's godtier cutting works against him.

Since Ichirou would like to discover the scene and Mako will be providing the chase sequence, it would round out nicely if Fynn provided the end. You'd probably have NPC cops at your disposal too if you want them, though I'd have to double check with the mods to be sure.
