As notated, please hold off on IC threads with new characters (outside of the TDM) until 5/1 when our mod-posted IC network post goes live (this includes IC inboxes) for the sake of continuity. This is a great time to make plans and get to know each other better!

LET'S KICK THIS OFF hi guys, I'm Kit! I'm a brand new player, you can find me over at ankeel.

And as some of you have already seen, I'm bringing in Rosalind Lutece! She's from Bioshock: Infinite, a lovely game about dads fucking up and the scientists who enable them. Here in Recollé, she's a physics professor, only moved here about a year ago. Absolutely is winging it when it comes to teaching; knows the hell out of physics. She's brisk but not quite unkind, wry and sarcastic and most definitely gonna be all up in everyone's business on the network. Her workshop comment is over here, complete with a few more deets.

why am I posting here instead of sleeping, I ask you

HI! I'm JC, brand new to the game, and I bring you Fai D. Flourite from that lovely manga that started out fluffy and adorable and then eventually took a nosedive into What the Hell Am I Reading, Tsubasa Chronicle! If you're unfamiliar, in canon Fai is a wizard with a Really Tragic Backstory (I'm pretty sure the writers were trying for an award) who acts like a cheerful, friendly, Stepford Smiler goofball... and then gets turned into a vampire to save his life because horrible things happen. He eventually gets over being a vampire (don't ask) and adorable family shenanigans ensue.

In Recolle he has a slightly less tragic backstory, goes to school for music composition and theory, ends up performing at a burlesque club for several years, bad stuff happens, and ends up going back to school to be a social worker. He's now a perfectly functional, practicing social worker, and he also goes to grad school part-time to get a more advanced license. When he's not working or studying he reads trashy romance novels, still loves sugar and alcohol, and chills with his cats. He's also a total mom and will probably mom your characters no matter how old they are.

(He also drags people out to have a Social Life despite his own idea of having a Social Life being dancing around in his kitchen and singing Prince songs. He's a giant dork, I'm so sorry.)

and my final slot is going to levy mcgarden from fairy tail. brief summary it's just a cute shounen manga about mage guilds and friendship and time travel and dragons and stuff and anyway levy is a short bookworm sweetie who uses word magic and it's cool and it's 4am so i'm not gonna be that eloquent.

in recolle she is 19 and a university student (specifically studying linguistics, but she takes a variety of courses)! she's lived in the city for five years, having moved from japan when she was 14 (her mother is japanese, her father was american and had moved to japan prior to her birth). her mother owns a comic book shop she works at called the comic corner which is...a corner comic book shop? they sell comics and trading cards and geeky things basically. she loves to read although she sucks at writing and runs a d&d group probably every other week that anyone is free to join. i'm completely up for any cr, or talking about what cr from the workshop/tdm to keep, so hit me up for whatever. overall she's upbeat and pretty friendly and easygoing!

Hello hello! I'm Ty, and some of you may know me already (I play Luke Castellan from the PJO series chiseler, and I'm one of the mods), but I'm so excited to meet everyone else that's new this round and see what second (or third!) characters the rest of you guys are picking up.

As for me, I'm picking up my second in the form of Hiro Hamada from Disney's Big Hero 6! For those of you unfamiliar, Hiro's a 14 year old genius who ends up getting dealt a pretty terrible hand not long after being accepted into college, and with the help of his new friends and a walking marshmallow he becomes a superhero because he feels like it, almost murders a dude, has sympathy for said-dude because his daughter was lost in a wormhole portal and basically became a hero and since it's Disney he got a pretty happy ending.

In Recollé he's a tiny bit older (15) but still a college student (sophomore year!) studying robotics and engineering at RU. He lives in an apartment with his NPC older brother, he runs a youtube channel under the alias Gadge (pronounced as "Gauge") where he talks about science and builds things on-screen, works part-time in a comic book store (the same one as Levy above) and also has a pet white cockatoo named Max...sometimes known as Bird-Max. Anyway his full app is here if you want more in-depth stuff but that's basically it.

My apologies for not hitting everyone I wanted to on the TDM! If we spoke on the workshop I would still love to work out that CR and move things along in-game, and for anyone I threaded with on the TDM I'm open to keeping those threads! yes i would call Baren a Something as opposed to a Someone - but more specifically it's Baren Kumou from Rengoku ni Warau. it's a prequel manga to a lot of tragedy, heartache, and tears - and it's still a lot of tragedy, heartache, and tears with the occasional poop joke but also mindnumbingly gorgeous art. 100% would recommend if you need a guide to get into it just ask, links will fall out of my pockets

anyway Baren in Recollé is Wild. he's a 21 year old university student studying Business (oh no) but barely shows up to class because he Models (Oh No) and would much rather be causing mischief and chaos (oH NO). he's unfortunately much smarter than he likes to appear, crafty, and due to the fact that I gave him a Tragic Backstory to parallel the one he had in canon, he's also an open channel to Money which just makes everything worse?? he consciously switches between being Charming and just being an Asshole so there you go, he's everything you could possibly hate in a person. but in true tsundere fashion, he's also terribly loyal, giving, and is a great Mom Friend if you get him to stop setting shit on fire for five seconds. baren is literally the Duality of Man meme.

I'm bringing in Shouto Todoroki from My Hero Academia. A show where superpowered teenagers go to school to learn about how to become heroes. He started out as a disaster before a certain somebody snapped him out of it.

In Recollé he's a student in high school and a part-time actor. He comes across as distant and aloof, but he's quite a bit more willing to talk than he seems. Since heroes don't exactly exist in the city, he's very determined to play a hero one day. Go here for more deets! And this way for his AU Workshop.

He's still one of those pretty boy types, even more obviously here because he doesn't have the scar on one half of his face. He still has his mismatched eyes, but his hair is completely red. As a friend put him, "Extra pretty".

Hello everyone! I am Hannah, and I am also brand new here! My plurk is over at lastbastion.

I'm bringing in Neferti, an OC! In her own world, she's a cat-lady, and also a knight who fights sea monsters. Big on honor and justice and all of that, not so big on socializing. Kind of oblivious and shitty at talking to people, honestly. And then in the end she learns the Power of Friendship (also the Power of Bisexuality) to murder a god.

In Recolle, her name is Cleo Ritter. (She'll smack anyone who tries to call her 'Critter'.) She remains a fixated on justice, but lacking knights in this setting, is aiming to be a police officer instead, attending Recolle University and job shadowing the various cops and detectives around. She remains socially awkward and oblivious and kind of accidentally a jerk, but she means well, really. She's kind of a musclehead and spends most of her free time working out or doing martial art training. And rather than a cat-lady, she's just a cat lady, with a lot of cat-related clothes, bags, pillows, whatever. She just likes cats a lot.

Hello, it's nice to meet you! I play an OC here, too--Momo here was a total psycho literally powered by evil, but her reincarnation, Nina Écarlate, is way less evil. More like just kinda of a selfish brat with anger problems. And a lack of remorse, that's a thing. She just kinda pretends to be a good person so others'll like her.

Funnily here, Nina's got a similar deal going on with her where Momo was a literal dog-person and Nina is a dog person in that she loves dogs.

Hi everyone! I'm Nara and I'm brand new here, so it's kind of exciting to be in a new game.

Today I'll be bringing Mohammed Abdul from Part 3 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, the one about the road trip to Egypt to kill a vampire and introduces the concepts of Personas Stands. Abdul here is kind of the Team Mom and does his best to be the #1 responsible adult among the team of disasters.

Since I enjoy giving reincarnation-relevant names, in this AU, he's named Mohammed Hefaz (and in Jojo tradition, is also the name of a musician), who is an archivist at the Recolle Museum. Mohammed really loves history and high literature. He likes reading about other cultures and wants to travel the world one day, but in the meantime, he's going to be a responsible adult figure to everyone. Everyone. He also has a hidden non-serious side to him, and he has a secret YouTube channel dedicated to his four budgies. If you work at the animal shelter, you might remember him as the guy who adopted the shittiest Boston Terrier in the world that somehow obeys him.

Hello, everyone, I'm Mini and I'm fresh meat! You can add me at Misheard if you'd like~

I'm bringing you Osamu Dazai from Bungou to Alchemist! Or, well, he's Shuji Tsushima in Recolle, since he hasn't had need for a pen name. Bungou to Alchemist is a game about saving literature by summoning the spirits of authors from their books and having them fight monsters, and also about crying about not being able to get the author you want because the gacha hates you.

Shuji is younger than his author counterpart (24) and still in college, majoring in literaute - this is his third attempt and he's really going to graduate this year, guys, he's definitely not going to drop out like the previous two times because he spent too much time drinking and browsing the internet and caring aggressively about fashion and not enough time actually studying... He's more mentally stable than his canon counterpart and has a better home situation, but this is an incredibly low bar. Also he works in a convenience store and hates it and every one of his coworkers has seen him cry.

Hey everybody!! Some new fresh meat has arrived in the form of Ryoko, and it's been... about two years since I joined a new game, so I'm excited to be here!

I'm bringing in the worst disaster in all of Star Wars, possibly even more so than Darth Vader himself, Kylo Ren—but in this world, he goes by "Ren Lowe," having faked his death as Ben Solo because he's a giant drama queen. He's still violent and a bit all over the place morality-wise, but given the lack of Jedi to kill or hidden mastermind brainwashing him from birth, he's significantly more chill and doesn't actually kill people. Yay!

Right now he's sort of a wanderer, going from job to job with no real goal as of yet. He wants to find something bigger than himself where he can make a difference, but having no connection to the life energy that surrounds the galaxy and binds it together makes things a little hard. That said, he's a bit of a history buff, and typically picks up more physical, mindless jobs, so he can be found all over the city. He occasionally lets of steam by participating in illegal fight clubs, but for the most part he keeps his head down.

Hell! I'm Glazed and I'm bringing in Kazuhira Miller, the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker personality edition.

Metal Gear Solid is a game series about a giant manchild who started his own army with blackjack and hookers, and then got cloned by one of the many dudes that had a crush on him and his clone turned out to be less of a manchild but also loved boxes. And there were giant robots but everyone hated giant robots except for the psychos that wanted nukes and the two guys that pee themselves when scared. Oh yeah, and one albino lesbian liked robots. Peace Walker is the one about that army that the giant manchild made and Kaz was the hooker commander and ran the blackjack tables.

In recolle he's just an accountant and has a business called Miller's Maxi-Finances where he does work for a lot of small businesses and the immigrants/second-generation Americans that run them. He's been in Recolle since he was ten and didn't have a lot of friends as a kid, but as an adult he's kind of a hussy. He takes care of his mom but doesn't like to talk about taking care of his mom because he worries that it'll be used an emotional weakness and he'll be taken advantage of. In canon, he's a straight-laced shadow dragon (or his canon's version of dragon, anyway) who, uh, happens to hate all humans, which in his canon is an umbrella term for every anthropomorphic being under the sun except for dragons. Amazingly, he's a police officer who works to protect the peace and somehow manages to function despite hating like 95% of the world's population—

In Recolle, he's a high schooler with something of a bad rep both because of his family and because he used to be a punk, but now he's trying to be an upstanding citizen and get into law enforcement when he graduates. Until then, he works at A Good Bean and volunteers at the animal shelter, and is also a book and astronomy nerd. He's somewhat less grumpy than his canon self, or at least less likely to threaten to kill you?? Murder is bad, guys.

He has moved in a few months ago in order to open up a tea shop on his parents' request. His hobbies include traditional Japanese arts, but he's quite open-minded and almost always willing to pick up new things. Ran is very serious about everything he does and he's polite at all times. And once he realizes that he's a page to a certain Japanese warlord, he'll just become...even more serious. Because being a page is serious business.

Hello everyone! I'm Ray, player of Leo Valdez (commandertoolbelt) and now bringing in my second character with Jack Kelly from Newsies, Broadway version! Long story short, the show is about a bunch of newsboys who go on strike in 1899, with Jack as their leader.

As far as the game goes, Jack grew up as an orphan here in the city. He got into university on a track scholarship and is currently studying journalism and interning at the local newspaper in town. He's basically your typical college guy, taking nothing seriously and probably going to a few too many parties and flirting with all the pretty ladies he lays his eyes on, but deep down he's a good dude who just wants to help the little guy have a better life than he did. You'll see him at lot of community events, but he'll pretty much always play it off as part of his job (even though he really does care). He's way more comfortable pretending that nothing in life matters, it's just more fun that way.

ace of diamond is a part of Sports Anime Hell, but it's a very special corner of sports anime hell that will take your heart, rip it out and stomp on it six times, then make you keep coming back for more not that i'm speaking from experience. eijun is the PROTAGONIST of the series, most famous for A) being a pitcher with a weird style B) running with his tire or C) just plain being an idiot.

eijun's a hotheaded young man who once slapped an entire baseball team for disrespecting his friends. he did the same thing here in recolle, too! he's a junior at recolle high school and the current ~**~*ACE*~*~* of the baseball team. if you want to find him, don't worry: you'll be able to hear him from six miles away with how loud he yells.

Hello hello~ My name's Card, and I also play Ryoji Mochizuki from Persona 3! Mafuyu here is from the manga Oresama Teacher, where she tries to break away from delinquency but ends up getting dragged back into fights all the time anyways, usually disguising herself with a rabbit mask or a wig/boy's uniform. She believes in the Power of Friendship, and in Recollé is no different, just with less restraints on her getting into fights.

Her app can be found here, but in summary, Mafuyu was born in Recollé, and is currently in her second year of high school. If we didn't get to workshop and you still want established CR, some of what I'm looking for: classmates (particularly people in clubs, of which she pokes around soccer, baseball, and theater so far but basically will try a little bit of everything even though she's not an official member of any of them), neighbors (she's lived in the city all her life, so familiarity is easy to handwave; she also walks her dog around the block/parks, and he barks at everything and everyone), tutors (in plural, because she needs help in every subject... insert something here about summer school if she fails her classes and doesn't want to repeat the grade), people who knew her as a kid... she was a good kid, honest. What happened.

ANYWAYS. I had a blast on the TDM and would love those threads to be canon if I threaded with you and you're also up for it! I was voice testing and trying some things out, so the actual in-game experience with Mafuyu will be less extreme. hi everyone! i'm anne, i'm brand new, and i'm bringing in guido mista of jojo's bizarre adventure. he's from part 5, vento aureo, aka the godfather ripoff, and he fills the loveable rogue/comic relief/ride-or-die bff slot of vento aureo's cast. he's also Literally An Assassin in canon. his stands are friendly bullets. this is a weird canon, ok.

here in recolle, mista's gonna be roughly the same personality-wise: quick with a joke and to offer a listening ear, not very good at being serious until or unless it's a life-or-death situation. having moved to recolle from naples at age 15, he's a previously-devout catholic doing his best to be an okay catholic, and he's currently working in majima's host club at his first steady job, like, ever. sorry in advance that he's so tacky, i can't stop that. a more detailed description of what au mista is like can be found at his application.

Hello hello hello! Aren here, and whether you're a familiar face or we've never interacted for I absolutely can't wait to thread with all of you guys and can't wait to kick things off here! Making AUs with you guys and being a part of this game has been a spectacular experience, and I'm really excited to see what kind of shenanigans we'll all get to in the game proper! But that's enough gushing from me for now, let's get into the disaster I'm bringing to it!

Yoshiko Tsushima, or "Yohane" as she prefers to go by (hoo boy), is from Love Live! Sunshine!!, and if you're not trapped in idol hell like I am, let me just say God bless you because it's unrepentant; the general gist is that Yoshiko is part of a small idol group from East Bumblefuck, Japan named Aqours, and their goal is to keep their high school from getting shut down! And while that's all well and good, Yoshiko herself is a bit of a character, and in canon, she likes to insist that she's far more than your average ordinary Bumblefuck resident; no, Yoshiko Yohane is a "fallen angel", banished from Heaven because she had angered God for being too cute. (yes I'm serious) Thankfully, it isn't as though she doesn't pull her weight when it comes to the idol group, I mean seriously, listen to her go hard--

And while her fallen angel routine is this whole big disastrous and hilarious hullabaloo in her canon (and don't worry, you guys won't be spared from it either, once the memory regains come in!!), in Recolle I'm taking a pretty decidedly different approach with her, and she's actually going to be a delinquent in high school, instead! She's significantly rougher here than she is in canon; she gets into kerfuffles, graffitis buildings, you name it, but in reality, despite her coarse front, she's still the same old dorky Yoshiko deep down, with a soft spot for people she cares about and an air of complete incompetence about her even with her "hardcore" reputation. howdy y'all i'm ashe and i'm a new player to the game here to bring you sousuke yamazaki from free!

if anyone's familiar of him you know that he gets the shitty end of the stick in the series and it just doesn't stop there. it's just because i'm a terrible person and love suffering. anyway he's recollé born and works at a restaurant that's owned by his dad which he'll be inheriting in the future! he's incredibly laid back due to the fact that he's trying to cover up the fact that he's bitter. hating the fact that his entire life changed due to an injury in high school that ruined his possibilities of going pro in baseball. he has a funny sense of humor, albeit sometimes dry due to how he delivers it, and while he may appear indifferent sousuke's the type of person who just cares way too much.

Hello, Recollites! I'm Alex (second of my name around here, evidently!), and I am rolling on in here with a blast from the past in the form of Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho!

If you haven't watched Yu Yu Hakusho, YOU SHOULD because it is a shounen series about friendship and punching in which the protagonist dies in the first 45 seconds. Kurama here is the Token Smart Guy of the protag squad, and canonically speaking he is also a half-demon! Which he will not realize in his Recollé AU, obviously, but boy is that gonna get awkward when he starts remembering his distant past as Youko Kurama the Spirit Fox, a notorious kitsune bandit who was essentially the boogeyman of his entire plane of existence.

In Recollé, he'll be going by the name Kit Fawkes (because I have a sick sense of humor and enjoy puns way too much), and he's moved here semi-recently for grad school, so you'll be seeing him around the university a lot! You can see his whole personality and AU background here and find his AU Workshop comment here, but generally speaking he's kind of a loner, studious, really into gardening, video games, folklore, and thievery puzzles, and god help you if you jack with somebody he cares about.

Hello Recolle! My name is Corinne, I'm totally new to the game, and I am playing Tuuri Hotakainen from the webcomic Stand Still Stay Silent!

In canon, Tuuri is an academic from post-apocalyptic Finland on a "research expedition" (read: illegal salvage mission) in the ruins of Denmark. Unlike the rest of her team, she lacks both cool magical abilities and immunity to the horrifying mutating rash illness that destroyed the old world; she just likes history enough to risk her life going after books in abandoned cities. What a nerd.

In Recolle, Tuuri is a freshman at Recolle University! She is an international student straight from Finland who is studying... a lot of things, she hasn’t decided on a major yet. She also works part time at Majima's host club as back of house staff, because why not.

Hey guys it's Nerdo (Nerdorama) again. Remember when I was here for a month and then dropped quietly and didn't tell anyone but the mods whoops. Anyway I'm back now that one of the two major RL problems I was having is mostly done, once again with Fate/Stay Night's often imitated, never duplicated Saber, aka Girl King Arthur, who's now your ordinary stressed-out history grad student, Alice Drake.

I didn't do a new workshop comment so I'm kinda rebuilding CR from the ground up, but all her info is in this incredibly ugly table of contents post I slapped together because her journal was getting cluttered.

Hello, recollé! Newbie here. I'm Jans, and I'm bringing the purest Yakuza to ever get into organized crime, Kazuma Kiryu! His app is over here if you'd like to take a gander.

Yakuza (or "Like A Dragon" in Japan) is a series with over ten years of history and Kiryu is in (almost) all of them, but I'll be specifically basing his appearance here on Yakuza 0. In it, Kiryu is a brash young yakuza thug with a heart of gold who fights within his yakuza family to keep himself from being framed for murder. Murder is just not ok. Also there's some tension over an empty lot in Kamurocho which is where the real estate business comes in. In later games Kiryu will take on his entire yakuza clan and fight the CIA to save his eight kids (by then he's running an orphanage, I promise it all makes sense.) If you haven't played any of the Yakuza games (start now or hold out until Kiwami, I'll wait,) then all you really need to know is that it's really dramatic and dudes rip their shirts off with one hand like this. Also there's karaoke mini games, dancing, strip clubs, and everything you could possibly imagine wanting to do if you're ever in Kabuki-cho—er, I mean Kamurocho. Also you can hire a chicken to manage your real estate business. Please play Yakuza.

In recollé though, Kaz is a soft-spoken pencil-pusher who has a knack for making friends and understanding criminal types. His dad is in jail for "fraud and tax evasion" though whether o not es involved in anything shady... well, surely not, Kaz would never believe that. He doesn't judge and he's not super up to date with technology but thankfully his generous ways make him an easy friend to kids. Or anyone who's willing to take advantage of him tbh, he's really naive. He can't cook for shit and eats mostly instant food, but if any of your characters are looking for a new place or making a move, let him know. He might actually get something to do besides paperwork if he brings in new clients!

Hours and hours later this is still funny to me and I absolutely love it. Hello Jans! It's very nice to meet you, welcome to the game! I've never played Yakuza but I really love the transition from thug to pencil-pusher because it's a.) really funny but also b.) a really clever way of keeping his base traits. It'll be another one of those fun regain transformations to watch in-game and I'm looking forward to it.
