Hello all, Teej here! So I've been looking into getting some criminal activity started back up in the city, and I'm here with some information on that!





Basically, Chuuya here is from the mafia in his canon and has been regaining memories related to that, as well as thinking about getting back into the business here. He's looked into the history of criminal activity to see if it ever was a thing, and found the following (c/ped from mod response, thank you guys!):

"There was a brief period of time right after the city was founded in 1918 where everything was very calm and quiet. The city had one law enforcement officer, only creating what would be considered a police department in the neighborhood of 1923. There was a spike of criminal activity that correlates with the years of the Great Depression, including the beginning of and traces of mafia activity.

Over time, criminal activity corresponded with what you'd notice in a big city, with several burglaries, assaults, murders, etc. especially in the bigger and busier districts like Tisse. However, what Chuuya will notice is that roughly about fifty years ago, crime seems to have come to a halt. There are no signs of organized crime or the mafia that have made record since then, crime rate as a whole improved and it almost seems as though the city supernaturally became one of the safest cities in the world with only the occasional bought of criminal activity."

Which sounds fishy as heck, so. He's interested in changing that, and I wanted to come to y'all to see if anyone else would be interested in re-establishing some of that activity!

Basically he's going to try to get the word out IC that it used to be established, at least (likely through vague notes with some of the above info left around, since the network has no anon) and try to find others who have similar interests and goals. Obviously a lot of people aren't going to just walk around telling strangers they're down to break some laws, but I'm here to work things out with folks so we can try to make some connections happen and get the ball rolling. Chuuya's a bartender, talking to people is what he does, we can make something work.

I'm not looking to set this up as a 'hey if you want crime go through me' thing, though-- the other reason for this post is just to gauge interest in having this happen at all and pass along the info on the history of crime so you guys can start working with it on your own if you want! Just hit me up if you're interested in potential networking, including potentially finding each other through attempts to do some questionable things. Meet me in the back alleys, my dudes.

(of course this may draw police attention, so also be aware that's a risk! I'm trying to keep a balance between being low-key and still getting people involved, but it's definitely not guaranteed to be secret or safe depending on IC actions, etc. I'm down to plot with police characters as well since there will probably be hiccups along the way, it's not going to be a perfect attempt.

Criminal activity does still need to go through the mods as well! This is strictly for interest and plotting and ideas, and isn't approval for any specific activity here.)

LAUGHS considering that his canon involves having hired serial killers and the mafia and maybe assassins to do his dirty work for him, and I might want to swing a regain from that potentially in the future, I would... actually love for him to run across this organised crime network in some way in the future HAHA.

heck yes i am sooo here for this. he's a canonical villain, and in-game has a memory of running his own gang, as well as some shady things he's done. even if it's for networking purposes and not gang/mafia activity i would still be super, super interested!

Ichirou is a police detective and I'm saying he's part of burglary and fraud so if any protection rackets or con games start getting run HE WOULD DEFINITELY notice, so I'd be interested!

Well, Dante here has a little bit of history in this area (he knows how to pick locks and shoplift, though he doesn't do much of the latter at all, and has a liiiiiiiiittle bit of experience with drugs though they weren't his thing so he only tried things like once or twice tops). In addition, he's trying to keep his nose fairly clean since he's got his parents' reputation to worry about (and does care about that, actually!), but he's not averse to helping out depending on the situation. He is Disneyfying though, so he'll be slowly moving away from that sort of behavior |D

HOWEVER I wanted to go ahead and mention that I used an NPC at the end of March named Jamie, who is a thief responsible for a couple heists in the area in the past few months. I've already said as much to the RPD folks, but if you'd like him for anything you're more than welcome to use him, whether that's two people trying for the same target, opposing forces, or anything along those lines c:

I would say that Yoon-sung may be interested in learning more thanks to him having bits of memories over life on a drug farm and training. He may want to research and force a trigger or three or just hang around being nosy and calling it research.

Canonically? Chloe's criminal scum, an assassin and has little to no ethical concerns on the matter, revelling in it.

Here in Recolle? The worst she gets into is some underage drinking. She's picked up almost all of the original Chloe's skills, which means B&E and wetwork, but she's also actively avoiding criminal activity. This isn't to say that she isn't capable of getting into it, but she'd need incentive (other than B&E to find out more on Retrospec. That's kind of a 'well duh' thing.).

So, if anyone starts looking at her as a possible crony for less than legal activities, get in touch with me. No promises, but it's definitely possible.

Bucky's criminal record is almost entirely state-sponsored, buuuut he does have like a 15 year gap where he did do work (ranging anywhere from A Little to A Fair Amount, it's really unclear tbh) for whatever criminal picked him up to do their dirty work.

But he's generally a good boy who wants to stay out of trouble, especially in Recolle, so I don't expect him to want to be within even fifty feet of this. At least for now. Maybe he could get dragged in later--either because of regains or to trigger them? I don't know just yet I honestly haven't thought this far ahead BUT I AM DEFINITELY INTRIGUED

part of the reason Chuuya is making an effort for this is for regain purposes, so! honestly he'd be down with other people who are similarly like 'yeah, I remember doing some shady things, I should see what's up with that'.

well. as long as they don't turn on him, that's where he stops being down with it.

Well, as Duo remembers his street rat past, he might be up for some minor law breaking, but he's generally a good character? So it would probably be a short phase.

However, during that phase, if anyone's looking for someone good at breaking and entering, or to be a getaway driver, or even just pickpocketing, Duo's probably your guy. LOL

responding here super late due to vacation SORRY ABOUT THAT, but: mista is starting to get memories of mafia life back as well! he's pretty on the fence about how he feels about it, but he does want to familiarize himself with it at the very least so that he can figure out what his other self might have been in it for . . . so if chuuya is Making Implications around the bar mista would def be like :|a well let's talk about it then

in the longterm he's gonna regain Being Super Good At Shooting People also so, that's a thing.
