(PLOTTING) Player Plot: Recollé Comics and Gaming Convention

Hello everyone! This is Sarah #2, your Seto Kaiba player, and I'm here to bring you more details about your July Player Plot! The annual Recollé Comics and Game Convention will be held over the weekend of July 27th to July 30th at the Recollé Convention Centre! If your character is a fan of all things gaming, comics, anime/manga/cartoons, cosplaying and just general nerding out, please anticipate and look forward to the convention taking place!

The convention will be running in conjunction with game-wide mod plot, but that's not my place to divulge anything just yet :) You know where to be if you want to have a piece of the action, #justsaying.

Okay, now that I've dangled the carrot in front of you - June will be dedicated to pre-convention planning and assorted miscellaneous shenanigans! This post functions as an OOC brainstorming/planning and questions post for players and characters who would like to get involved in convention planning and staffing in order to make this event a success. Details are as follows:

Kaiba's game development and publishing company, Transcend:GAME, is the title and head sponsor for this year's edition of the convention. As such, he's going to be in charge of the nitty gritty details that's needed to make sure that the convention takes off successfully.

• We need staffers and volunteers! Feel free to let me know if you're interested in working part-time for him. He might be a hard taskmaster but he promises to actually pay at least minimum wage or over. IC-ly, Kaiba will be putting up a Retrospec post advertising the convention and the need for help to run the convention successfully during the week of 5 June and he will be contacting all applicants for inbox thread interviews because that will be Fun. And if you happen to pass his interviews, please expect Kaiba all up in your inboxes chasing for work and you know. General Office Shenanigans except you're working for a video game company.

• Is your character some kind of local celebrity? Would your character be interested in boothing, whether it's because they want to sell fannish goods or just want to set up a pop-up store at the convention centre during con weekend? If you want them to hold a mini-event during the convention like a meet-and-greet and autograph signing, or like, if you have NPC suggestions for potential guests and panelists and what have you, talk to me! If your company would like to sponsor things at this convention, or would like to showcase a product, please let me know! Or talk to people in this post, too. I'd love for involvement from anyone and everyone if possible.

• It's open to everyone to attend! Feel free to use this post to plan what to do at the con or who your character can run into. Didn't expect to see someone in cosplay? Or participating in that popup video game tournament? Go wild. o/ Some current things that I've planned to happen during the convention itself will be: game releases and press cons, booths set up by fanartists and shops, panels, mini-tournaments for console and card and tabletop gaming, cosplay shenanigans, talent showcases where people can sign up to perform, even. It's a huge and ambitious event because he's Extra.

• If you've attended conventions and other large fannish events and would like to have some elements of it incorporated into the final convention log, please let me know by dropping a suggestion in this post! I'll see what I can do, but I do want as many people participating as possible, so please feel free to suggest anything and everything you would be interested in seeing.

As far as possible, this post will be open until July 15th - I'll be posting a final information post incorporating as much details as possible on that day!
