PLOT POST - SEPTEMBER Welcome to our September plotting post! Please feel free to comment to these posts with your character's plans for the month or with what you would like to do for the month, and feel free to discuss those plans with everyone else! Here is the mod questions thread! MOD BULLETIN BOARD -Now that we're in September, we are on our new, simplified AC system! As a reminder, here is the new system: 💠 One memory regain, which can be regained through normal means or from a freebie memory of the month. This link must be a link to your regain and our response, not the thread the regain occurred in. 💠 At least twenty comments presented in no less than two and no more than four threads. The minimum comment requirement for these threads is 3 comments from you (however, you may not submit two threads of 3 and count it as your AC, for example.) 💠 A post (network or log) from you would count as one comment in any chain of comments. 💠 OPTIONAL: After your first ten comments, any AC thread with a person that was not used for AC last month can be redeemed for bonus points! 💠 Please try not to use the same character for more than one proof. We are lenient with this as we know sometimes people have bad months, but the moderators may speak to you if we notice this as a continuing pattern. 💠 Bonus points may be redeemed for any comments submitted in addition to your AC proofs. -We have also changed the points value in-game! Network comments are now worth 1 point and log comments are now worth 2 points. -We are still looking for some AC helpers! We will address those interested shortly! -As mentioned previously, we will have an opportunity for a monthly freebie every month going forward! However, we would like to clarify that all freebie regains must be applied for before the end of the AC period! This not only helps you remember what your character already knows, but it also helps us so that we can judge future regains accordingly based on what your character has already obtained. -Our last note for the bulletin board is a friendly reminder to please use your character tags to tag yourself on posts and logs! This helps keep things organized not only for us but for your gamemates as well. In addition, if there is an error with your character tag or you need us to change anything, please let us know. WORLD CHANGES The tier for normal lemons has been met, and they will exist alongside the dancing variety when the retrospec post goes live tonight at 9PM EST! As a reminder, these world changes now exist: -Horses are now regarded as valid mythological creatures! So you get mildly less strange looks for talking about them. -Photographs and text, online and off, now have the color blue again! -Visual video media (online, in theaters, etc) now has the color green once again! This does not include text yet. -There has been a new list of karaoke songs added to the city of Recollé! These songs can now be found in karaoke bars and machines all across the city and even can be sold on CDs for your own karaoke parties. -The Crow's Nest now has locations across the world, including a brand new location right in the heart of Recollé! After August's plot wraps up, be sure to grab a bite to eat and say hi to Kenny Crow. -Finally, the ocean has been restored! It's still gray, however. Keep working together to buy back world changes. Be sure to check out our world changes page over here and our world regains page to track all changes. Players are free to buy back certain aspects of their canon (such as the above karaoke or fast food restaurant) to help impact and change the world as well. EVENTS As a reminder, new characters will be unable to recall any of the strange Retrospec-related events of the TDM or to notice anything is odd until the Retrospec post tonight at 9PM! While you are free to do inbox things in the meantime until you have comm access, please remember your characters are in NPC mode until you get comm access, thank you! Throughout the month of September, the city of Recollé will want to highlight the importance of sharing, caring and teamwork! That's why this month characters may experience a few strange events throughout September. Beginning at 9pm EST on 9/3 (after the mod-posted mini-event log), Retrospec users will find themselves privy to other users private thoughts and texts at random times. What exactly does that mean? -Characters will find that at random times (player's choice) a thought bubble will appear over their heads displaying their true thoughts and unsaid words while communicating with someone in person. As a note, this will not be capable of displaying memories! -Characters will also find that they might try to send a text to someone, but half of the text is cut off and sent to someone else entirely. For example, A may try to text B "hey, I don't understand your dinosaur thing but live your dreams." B may only receive "hey I don't understand your dinosaur thing but" and other character C may receive "live your dreams." -Finally, characters may find a bit of magic in sound as noise takes on a life of its own. A character may sing a song and music notes float out of their mouth. Someone may be yelling angrily and large, red scribbles appear in mid-air to surround someone else. If someone is crying, a small raincloud might appear overhead and drench them and whoever else is around. These are just examples and you are free to play with these effects as little or as often as you'd like over the month! All effects will cease beginning on 9/30 at 11:59PM EST. There's no right or wrong way to play with these thought bubbles, misfires, or sound manifestations so be as creative as you'd like! On September 3rd at 9pm EST, we will post a small event log for players to use to play with these effects plus a few other smaller events as results of last month's plot! You are free as usual to make your own posts and logs about the effects after this. FREEBIE This month's freebie will be 5 comments from you on the mod-posted Retrospec post going up 9pm EST 9/1! While we encourage players to tag characters they've never tagged before to strike up new CR, this freebie does not necessarily have to be with a new character. -For your reference, check out the plot clues/finds page found here! This is all for OOC knowledge, though characters have been spreading the information ICly as well. As of this post, this plot page is up to date. -Additionally, if you haven't yet be sure to check out the regains guide to help outline what kind of triggers will work for obtaining regains and memories in-game. For reference, high school grades in the US tend to work like this:

9th grade -> Freshman (ages 14-15)

10th grade -> Sophomore (ages 15-16)

11th grade -> Junior (ages 16-17)

12th grade -> Senior (ages 17-18)

That's the general guideline, though occasionally there'll be students that either skipped a grade so they're younger, or they did so badly they have to repeat a year so they're older. If someone takes 5 or more years to complete high school, they are known as a Super Senior. It's usually not a good thing.

CLASSES: I know I have him enrolled in a cooking class and driver's ed. Besides that, it's the typical general ed courses (math, English, history, etc)
EXTRACURRICULARS: Hahaha no. He works part time at the Confectionary though!
OTHER: Noah transferred to Recolle High from the UK halfway through last year (March). He dresses like he walked out of a Hot Topic catalog, and tends to sit in the back of the class. Overall, he's pretty unsocial and doesn't speak up unless he's called on. He occasionally gets detention because he's pretty easy to provoke into a fight. Surprisingly though, his grades are pretty decent, with his strongest subject being math.

For reference, unlike high school, college in the US doesn't have very strict grade levels or a timetable in which to complete your degree. There's an average time it takes to complete a type of degree, but many people often take more or less time to finish it depending on their situation. Grade names (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) are used to refer to people in undergrad, but other than freshman they don't really hold the same weight as they do in US high schools.

College students are more likely to be separated by the type of degree they are working on, which is as followed:

Associates: Takes ~2 years. These are degrees used usually for trade or vocational skills (Electrician, Nursing, etc)

Bachelor's: Takes ~4 years. Also known as "undergrad" and is the most common degree. The first couple years are full of general education courses, while the last two years are more focused on your major (or finishing those generals you've procrastinated on). Usually used to get you into entry level positions at different occupations, depending on what your major (area of focus) is.

Master's: Takes ~1-2 years, but you must have a Bachelor's beforehand. Also known as "grad school". This degree is for further specialization of a specific subject, and all your classes focus on that subject (as opposed to undergrad).

Doctorate: Takes ~1-4 years depending on the program, and this is the highest level of specialization. You

must have a Bachelors to work on a doctorate, and possibly a Masters depending on the program. Anyone who earns this degree earns the title of "Doctor", even if they weren't studying medicine.

dave strider is starting college this month! he's also going to be living in the dorms so that's a thing. he's 17 (18 is in december...) and taking a bunch of different classes and works several part time jobs. he's still the assistant manager at enchanted blossoms somehow (save everyone), he applied to akira's cat cafe, he does math tutoring, and he picked up shifts at the movie theater because he's...keeping busy...he's pretty easygoing on the outside and likes to talk about nonsense and you should feel more than free to hit up his inbox if you want! he responds to any variety of nonsense and doesn't care if he knows someone or not, so. for this month i am up for any silly effect shenanigans or missent half texts as anyone would like; if you want a thing lmk and we can plan something for us!

kyouko kirigiri has been a college student for a while (she's 20, she'll be 21 next month) - specifically she's a med student but she does take courses away from that so! i'm always up for more cr for her (or for dave, but she's new so it's easy to get in on the ground floor). she lives with kaguya pekoyama next to some losers and works at the university library! if you want to hit up her ic contact while she's an npc it's here and come 9pm she will go "what the fuck, actually" probably. i'd love to plan minievent shenanigans - so if you want half a text from her, or want to send her nonsense, please let me know??? i'd also be willing to plan sound things or thought things, just hit me up!

Magilou, for September, will be starting off the month by me dumping 400 points into regaining her physical age of 14. So for around the first 10 or so days of the month she will be trying to cope, or avoid coping with, that fact. And overall just, falling apart mentally over that because she can’t handle a problem like this.

After that, she’s going to end up moving in with Katherine Takada(totallynotanoni) at some point mid-september, but she will be one of the people who is going to be working on piecing together lore. Thus, for that, she needs to speak with members of each Group 2 team, and for specifics on info:

-Members of Team Yzma, to learn more about Dr. Vanderweele and all the insane mad scientist shit going on there, plus stuff they got from Surina that's relevant.
-Members of Team Tarzan, specifically to learn about their scroll they got at the end. She can put the names to the symbols on their scroll and also explain who C. Vanderweele is.
-Members of Snow White, so she can learn they explored the Spinnato Mansion and tie it into the founder Phillip Spinnato. Of particular note would be Eleanor and Yuri because their little riddle thing has direct parallels to challenges Maggie herself faced. And once again, she can clarify C. Vanderweele's identity for them.
-Emi and Naoto from Peter Pan, so she can hear about their destroyed village and link it to the village that part of Team Absinthe had to explore, that involved the people who were tasked with exploring said village gathering gold coins like the ones those two found.

All of the above would be incredibly helpful for this lore quest.

As for with Gallerian he will be having Ritsu Kageyama(esperimental) move in with him and helping the kid deal with the fact that RYoji died, along with just trying to catch up on this entire Retrospec situation. He's not going to have as much going on with him as Maggie does but Gallagher can just, have a chill first month.

RETROSPEC KIDS CONSPIRACY CLUB / JUNIOR HIGH + YOUNGER

... I did not prepare a post beforehand like Yuff upthread laughs.

So as discussed between Francia and I, the players of Ritsu Kageyama and Mimori Togo, we'll be setting up a Retrospec club for the coming school year, for the kids to have a support club and also in general, have an easier time building CR because our age group tends to have less reason to interact with the others.

To figure out who may be clasmates and such, feel free to put their ages too! Ritsu is 13. I'll add his messy personal life stuff in another post.

First off, would you prefer a pinglist or a discord group?

Also this is silly, but, hey. Vote for our ridiculous initiation rite because just showing you have the Retrospec app is boring! Tentatively, we're making members draw horses. Actually, even if you're not playing a kid please vote for this too. I want all the awful ideas.

Yo! Yanagi is 13 with his birthday sometime later in the fall, but he's definitely a middle school student. A club sounds like a fun idea, so I'm up for it! For activities and cr building outside the age group, maybe they could probably hit up player businesses and the high school/college campuses for one reason or another? (the go-to excuse is club fundraising)

Also I'm fine with either for a pinglist or discord group!

I vote for drawing horses or to make someone try to describe or explain the color green/blue in the funniest way possible.

I'm back in action and in-game with John Egbert who will be starting university this fall! He'll be living in the dorms and sharing a room with Dave Strider. He's 18 as of April and will be working at Flix, the movie theater in the city. He's brand new to the city and will want to figure out a lot of things going on and meet as many people as possible. He's pretty laid back and loves chatting with random people. He's majoring in some form of science despite not wanting to, and he's probably bad at it. He plays piano and bass and also played soccer and baseball all four years of high school.

One of the things I was thinking of doing was hosting an open log for a sports kind of day since it seems like a lot of people this round are into some kind of sport? Like a disjointed free for all soccer game or something.

Outside of that!! I would love to do misfire texts and thought bubble stuff with people at random. It's a great way to do random CR and I'm open to anyone and anything either on the log on the 3rd or in his inbox or w/e.

UH. I'm babbling? I'm babbling, I'm going back to AC stuff let's play together, guys! I'm super excited!!

Things I currently have in mind for James this month:

• Finally get around to having that concert, featuring ALL-NEW material! Maybe at Cabin Eleven again? As a bonus: maybe people will get accidentally assaulted by magic notes/lyrics flying at them from his mouth/guitar, courtesy of Retrospec's latest wackiness!
• He's gonna find out that the arm that Retrospec sent him in the mail is actually his
• He's also mourning Ryoji right now. 8C rip in pieces, ryoji, peperony and chease
• I think I'm gonna have him regain a few languages and/or weapons? Idk what to pick yet so if you have a language preference (out of French, German, Russian, and maybe Chinese and Japanese) or a weapons preference that would lead to Wackier Antics, please let me know! I will happily cater my regains to maximize shenanigans.
• Re: these thought bubbles--it depends on the convo but hey, you (yes, you!) might have the chance of finding out that James has gotten weapons and severed limbs as part of his regains! Because he thinks about those a lot but is trying to keep them a secret.

For my two:

Noah Campbell (redarm) will be starting his junior year in high school and trying to get his life back to normal after spending a whole month punching monsters! I don't have much in the way planned for him, but I'm open to any plotting! Misfired texts can definitely be an issue with him, and you can bet he will be a regular victim to angry scribbles over his head. As for unhidden thoughts there..........honestly aren't that many, unless it's his more vulnerable thoughts. He's a pretty blunt guy ROFL. But we'll see how it goes!

Elliot Craig (fiddlestick) is my new one! He's just moved to Recolle from NYC and will be starting Recolle University as a freshman! For this plot....he's basically screwed. Expect a lot of thought bubbles that continuously berate himself or simply just music playing. Sometimes he'll say "it's nothing" outloud, and there will be an entire soliloquy of his issues and insecurities. Fun stuff like that! Text misfires can definitely happen as well!

So like I noted above, Yu is going to be a college student in the fall. On top of his full-time college work, Yu is a member of the Recolle U swim team and probably at least one theater club. He also has two part-time jobs, one at the local hospital, and one as a day-care assistant. He ... is EXTREMELY BUSY all the time. He might in fact be working too hard? He seems kinda tired a lot. Whoops. It's fine, probably.

You may also be able to find him helping out at Akira's cat cafe, from time to time.

He has a tendency to keep to himself, especially lately, but he'll still be friendly, especially when on campus, so he's definitely open to making friends, especially in his classes and activities! Feel free to also drop by the twins' new house that they're renting, holy shit. It's a house they're sharing with one other boy, and it's a decent 3-bedroom home. It has a few problems with old appliances and ancient linoleum floors but it's otherwise cozy. Except it might be haunted, maybe? No one knows. But hey, come visit the new house! Bring housewarming gifts, or get spooked by those weird noises coming from the basement! The twins will welcome company. The twins and also their anywhere-from-8-to-12 cats.

Otherwise he's having a pretty chill month! However, PLEASE, please feel free to hit up his inbox for misfired texts once that starts up; I love making CR that way, it's so fun! I am down for ANYTHING in the misfires/cut off texts department so just feel free to hit up my inbox at random.

Hello, Alec here and I have two characters now in game! So for the plans I'll be starting out with my newest character:

Constantine Tarr (aka Ki-moon Cha) is going to be so very confused by all this weird stuff happening to the point of wanting to write emo songs about it. He is also one of those people who don't show a lot of emotions on his face, which means of course he will get a lot of problems with his thoughts and emotions being shown off. He will especially have a lot of musical notes appear since he sings and be very put out by all of this. I also have planned for him and Bucky to get into a debate over who is the most emo of people to emo. This will be a music-off between the two. Also maybe Tarr will end up with the horror that was his black lipstick phase.

Meanwhile, Yoon-sung Lee is going to be offering internship to any of the college kids going into computer studies to work at his office. What that means is that people will end up having to hang around this brat and his cats at an office that's kind of a big play space full of computers and games. It's really cool except it's also a big mess because these are programmers and can be a wild mess. Otherwise he will probably be dealing with getting a reminder that his canon self is absolutely not a nice guy and probably dealing with a personal assistant setting things on fire. Yay!

Hey friends it's Fearless, and here is my soft island boy Sora Pu'uwai. He's starting his senior year this year! And his twin brother is a freshman at the university! So he'll be around the university campus a little bit more now. He also has 36,000 animals at his house at any one time, so if your character would like a pet, he's a great person to hit up! He doesn't have a job, but he does volunteer at the animal shelter sometimes.

I don't have a ton of plans for this month, except I'm going to start ramping up the amount of bad memories he's getting this month. So, y'know, if you'd like to help me with that hit me up. He won't be getting only bad things, but... it's mostly bad things.

Other than that, he's still playing soccer for now. He was waffling about rejoining the team all summer but he got roped into it again by his teammates poking him to. That's a thing you can talk to him about.

Heyo it's me, Abi, and this is jackass I am ready for this it's gonna be a good month!

So Dante just got back from group 2 shenanigans and he's. Not having a great time right now 8| He blames himself for accidentally winning Family Feud and Toushiro having his soul separated from his body as a result, and further for losing all his own regains as his "prize" and not being able to do anything to protect/save Ryoji from being killed. He is going to hate this so much, he doesn't want people being able to read his thoughts, can he just think of a brown cow or grandmother lingerie to throw people off the trail....

He's currently living at Birch Hills but Dante's an adventurer so honestly he can run into people anywhere in the city. He's big on parties and drinking and casual hookups, which are even more likely at the moment since he just found out his girlfriend doesn't... remember... that they ever started dating. Life sucks :( But that's what bad life choices are for!

Katherine, on the other hand (from the musical Newsies!), is doing all right after last month's debacle. She's the normie in all of this, and while she understands what's going on, she's still feeling out of her depths here. I'd really love to start building more CR for her this month, so please hit me up! She's an absolute sweetheart with a backbone of steel, please come and either make friends with her or make her hate you, I'm open to anything c:

Lucy here is a sullen and cranky almost-not-a-teenager and high school dropout/delinquent/serial killer who tends not to talk much until she gets going or feels comfortable. She's not over Ryoji dying yet so that will kind of put a further damper on the Talking. But there's actually a lot going on in her head, so the dissonance will be entertaining.

Lucy works a weird schedule at a warehouse and can usually be found at any particular hour most places, like a wandering cat. And also like a cat, now that her vectors are strong enough to let her climb up or jump into otherwise inaccessible places she does that a lot. And holds conversations from up there. She likes to pretend she's tall, shut up.

ALSO, she has two sisters now! Katherine (Takada) and Luna. Both of which she's kind of...failed to tell people about. Feel free to yell at her about that and/or squint at their surnames (all Takadas) and hair colors facial features being way too similar. And then yell at her.

Amelia Wagner was in Team Pls Nerf Sena Ethanol last month, and spent some time being baleful polymorphed into a cuckoo. She's kind of displeased about that. She's also remembering dragons a lot, it's terribly confusing.

She's also a private tutor for a number of high school and college level subjects, though she's picky about her students, if you'd prefer to start CR that way. Amelia's very nosy about what her son Kurt's getting up to and what his friends are like. Amelia's also very interested in what other groups were up to last month, and will for once gladly share information without being prodded first.

Baren is - well he's going to have a rough month. he'll be doing plot info collecting on the downlow, but if anyone wants to talk plot it'll be the time that he'll be 100% honest about everything he knows. i think we're talking about a possible ic info meeting to talk about that, so he'll be in attendance! moreso he'll be quitting modeling & MIA from the general public after the 7th to do some soul-searching (and I'm setting him on fire). if anyone wants to plot stuff for that first week though, lmk and we can work something out! i'm trying to sort of take a step back with him this month in the sense that he won't be popping around as much willy nilly, but I'm always happy to work things out for 1:1 plotting!

Both of my characters will be returning to Recolle U for the new semester!

Kurt Wagner will mostly be getting back to the normal groove after being whisked away for most of August, and he'll also be Dealing with a number of regains he has that he he's been keeping hidden. Pointed ears, a tail, a holographic watch and the abilities of teleportation and clinging to wall/ceilings. He may look more into fictional superheroes for potential inspiration! And maybe he'll wonder again about the future of Heckbusters and his own career, as well.

Byakuya Kirigiri will be new to Retrospec, and so he'll be trying to consume as much plot information as he can and see what he can figure out. There will also be room for shenanigans with Mcdonalds and anime club, most likely. And he'll be scouting out The Crow's Nest at some point too, to assess their skill.

HELLO it's AJ and this time I have two characters to do junk with!

First I have my new character, Ayano Tateyama, a bubbly nerd who you may remember from sleeping the entirety of class at Recolle High. Because of such feats, she has to repeat her senior year so she will be attending Recolle High AGAIN as a senior. Please make friends with her, she has no one else anymore. Or don't. She'll gladly talk to you about superheroes and professional wrestling whether you're paying attention to her or not. She can be loud, so she may end up shooting noise lines all over the high school. Also lots of weird, wrestling terminology making for weird misfires!

There's also Terra! Terra is busy trying to get over some person trauma so it's on his mind a lot. He has a lot of sad thoughts ok. Sad thoughts. All the time. And generally trying not to talk much, lest weird stuff come out of his mouth. He's also regularly attending physical therapy for some wounds he received in the incident, so maybe you'll see him around the gym/hospital/etc. Ask him why he keeps dropping stuff. ALSO if your character is into volunteering, Terra is looking to step up at the Recolle Volunteer Association so he's down to do some volunteer work with fellow busybodies.

Katherine is a one-armed, former delinquent and sort of still alcoholic counsellor at RU who will be dealing/have to deal with:
- Suffering from trauma nightmares caused by her rather painful and disturbing experiences in jungle hell. She'll be trying her best to cope on her own; her drinking habits are coming back and she'll be trying to bury herself in work and other people's problems to distract herself. Feel free to notice, grow concerned, and try to get her to admit she has issues and needs help.

- Exhausted from a general lack of sleep.

- Speaking of burying herself in other people's problems, in a similar fashion to Fai's recent post Kath will be offering one-on-one counseling and other forms of assistance to RU students affected by the app.

- Soon she'll be dealing with a new regain that when she figures out that its a memory will lead to some very, very big questions about what the hell her canon!self is. She might actually start feeling less human, so prepare for that trauma conga-line.

- Might be looking into self-defense classes or martial arts after all the fighting she's had to go through.

- Magilou will be impromptly moving in with her sometime in the month after she loses her apartment.

- People need to figure out that she has a sister on retrospect at some point or another.

- Also now has a second sister in the form of her fraternal half-sister Luna, whom she won't even know exists until sometime later this month.

hello hello, it's me, Robyn, and here's what I got (which isn't much yet). Here's my cr meme comment for more info, but for now:

Alison Sobeck will be returning back to Recolle U for the semester! She will be trying to adapt to some sense of normalcy. I would really like to do a series of stupid misfires for her as well as play around some with the thought sharing, where she is a lot more caustic in her head. A lot of apologies will be happening. Other than that, she's an environmental science major and will tutor you in science and math, if you give her money. Pragmatism.

Tifa Lockhart is brand new and is really just trying to find her footing. Thought sharing is absolutely something I want to do with her, as she's mostly honest but way less delicate in her thoughts. A lot of them will be gross schoompy thoughts about her girlfriend, I'm sorry. She will be flying head first into any and all volunteer work because she's upset about missing everything, somehow, so if you have anyone who is also into that, hmu. Would also like to play around with the sound prompt because she's trained in classical piano and has a good ear for music.

Another thing! She teaches self-defense classes and will be waiving fees to the first few introductory courses for people who are interested in learning how to protect themselves (or others!).

Davey is not doing so well after group 2 shenanigans. the poor boy is basically throwing himself face first into schoolwork and pretending everything is fine, nothing is on fire, he definitely did not get ghosted and then watch his teammates do the same later that month. There’s probably a constant steam whistle sound of stress lingering around him too.

Futaba is continuing on as normal nbd, She’s spending her free time trying to recreate the bazooka she got from Joanne and generally causing mischief and chaos.
