PLOT POST - January Welcome to our January plotting post! Please feel free to comment to these posts with your character's plans for the month or with what you would like to do for the month, and feel free to discuss those plans with everyone else! Here is the mod questions thread! MOD BULLETIN BOARD -First and foremost, we would like to announce that starting today, plot clues may not be bought! For January and February, due to plot reasons, plot clues will not be able to be purchased by players. These clues will reopen in March. Please keep in mind when purchasing a plot clue we do ask that players have a specific idea in mind of what they would like to look into (i.e. it is harder for us to create a clue that is "I want to explore an NPC area and see what I can find!" versus "I want to check out the waffle house and see if there are any remnants of Retrospec at all since the mailbox is there.") -Starting in 2018, we have altered our hiatus rules just a slight bit! Beginning this month, all hiatuses going forward must be a total of 14 days or more in the month you are calling hiatus to be considered exempt from AC. Due to the high volume of players/characters in-game, along with the amount of activity generated per month and the opportunities for freebie memories, we feel that even 20 days in the month is enough to make AC for characters. Please note: nothing else about our hiatus rules have changed. If your hiatus is more than 14 days but is split between two months, we will still need AC for at least one of these months. -We will have an opportunity for a monthly freebie every month going forward! However, we would like to clarify that all freebie regains must be applied for before the end of the AC period! We do not accept freebies beyond this barring specific circumstances. -Additionally, please remember there is no limit to how many regains you can earn in a month! Though you need one memory regain for your AC, you're free to claim as many as allotted for the month so you have time to pick and choose which one to link for AC. -While freebies can be submitted at any point in the month, we would like to remind players that per the regains guide, we do ask that the last tag from you on a thread submitted for regular memory regains be no older than 14 days. -We also ask that players do not trigger their own memories prior to clearing things with us! It's part of the game mechanic for regains to be done the way that they are, so this means we ask players not to have their characters feel memories coming on, etc. -Please be sure to keep your registries up to date with both memories and abilities! A good habit to get into is updating your registry as soon as the notification from us is received. This not only helps you remember what your character already knows, but it also helps us so that we can judge future regains accordingly based on what your character has already obtained. -We would like to use this time to provide a friendly reminder to please use your character tags to tag yourself on posts and logs! This helps keep things organized not only for us but for your gamemates as well. In addition, if there is an error with your character tag or you need us to change anything, please let us know. IMPORTANT DATES 1st Retrospec Post 9PM EST 3rd Event Log 9PM EST 8th Classes for all Recollé schools begin again. 11th AU Workshop 18th Reserves/TDM 25th Applications Open 31st AC Due see our calendar for a look at upcoming dates this month and further! WORLD CHANGES • Currently as of this weekend, grains, fruits/veggies, meats, and dairy/other drinks have been regained taste-wise! We have one more tier to meet and status can be found on the world regains page. Be sure to check out our world changes page over here and our world regains page to track all changes. Players are free to buy back certain aspects of their canon to help impact and change the world as well, though we may delay the installment of some features for plot purposes. Of note: players are allowed to help contribute to buying world changes not from their own canon. Players may donate up to 100 points to another player's cause. When donating points to a canon buyback, please put them on the same world change page here! Please note, these are only for world changes and not items/powers/etc. EVENTS Happy 2018, Recollé! Did you have a nice holiday? Good thing the taste of meat came back just in time for your fancy Christmas dinners. The new year is looking brighter than ever... ...isn't it? Maybe not quiet. Starting January 3rd, a large dome-like structure will overtake the entire city of Recollé with the intent of isolating the city and its energy readings. While the sun will still be shining and providing some much-needed vitamin D to the city, there will be nothing but darkness until February 1st as the Retrospec team works on a greater problem. In the meantime, characters may be able to utilize different means to create new light sources. Street lamps will be lit and electricity will still work, but citizens may find that they'll have to get creative as they make their way through their every day lives. In addition, the blockades in front of the old subway system will give way at the beginning of the month and open several tunnel routes for exploration. While it's unknown where the tunnels go or what characters may find, nothing is stopping them from exploring different routes that are open, taking expedition teams down underground, and mapping out new city lines. Please be sure to read this month's event log for more details! Of note: there will be a few small player plots open for volunteers that you guys can get involved in (not mod-run and game-wide, simply mod-approved) so be sure to be on the lookout for those as well. Finally: we would like to announce that February will be our next big plot month similar to August's event! We have taken a lot of your feedback from August to heart and have created a new set of circumstances and information to work with for the next month-long plot-jump. This information will go up in an OOC post on January 25th (the same day apps open as to allow new players/characters a chance to jump in, too.) FREEBIE -This month's freebie will require one thread from the mod-posted Restrospec post on the 1st featuring at least ten comments from you. As usual, this regain should be turned into our regains request post with "January Freebie" and the qualifying thread link in the explanation section! As notated above, this freebie will not qualify past January. -For your reference, check out the plot clues/finds page found here! This is all for OOC knowledge, though characters have been spreading the information ICly as well. As of this post, this plot page is up to date. -Additionally, if you haven't yet be sure to check out the regains guide to help outline what kind of triggers will work for obtaining regains and memories in-game. As mentioned above, please feel free to comment to this post (and to each other) with your character's plans for the month for plotting and CR building.

ANYA (constellates) ... actually doesn't have a lot going on!! the basics of her character is that she is a sweet half-russian idol girl and she is... still a sweet half-russian idol girl but also now she can use guns and swords?? level up?? but anyway all my plans happened for her last month? so i guess i'll just leave her open for things at random! here are just some idle, non-pressing things i'd love to do with her -

GUNS GUNS GUNS » Anya actually already has a regain of using a shotgun and was given one over the course of the game, but if anyone knows more about guns and would be willing to teach her I'd love to move forward with that?

TUNNEL EXPLORING » personally i'd love to have one of those "what happened lassie?? anya fell down a well??" but with like. subway tunnels. did i think about this in detail? no. did i just come up with it? yes.

GENERAL WANTED CR » more adult cr!! do you want a morality pet for your chara because anya's pretty good about that. more cute girl friends also!! more people who will take advantage of the fact that anya is naive as fuck!! also she's lived in recolle all her life so if you want some new pre-established cr hit me up late i'm here for it

SHRINE TIME » Baren recently regained the Kumou Shrine! (reference pics: x, x) it'll be popping up right in the forest LMFAO HAHA. so if anyone goes exploring they'll probably run into it?? i'll be putting up an open log for it in case anyone's interested!
CURSES, LEGENDS, AND DRAGONS OH MY » baren's regains around this will pretty much relate to the curse of the orochi, a serpent that rises once every 300 years. i... don't know how willing he'd be to talk about it but tbh if anyone has any similar shit they can regain from a convo about it, let me know and we can try to finagle something!! I'LL TRY SO HARD.
TUNNEL EXPLORATION » i don't know who wants to be stuck spelunking with this fuck but that sounds like the easiest way to get cr. also if anyone gets lost, he'll probably be willing to help them find a way out? BAM easy way to get cr with this jerk if you want that (why would you want that)

i'd also be down to do something gun-related!! maybe they can swap knowledge--bucky's a pro with handguns but has never shot a shotgun before! (and i think i can get a regain for him on rifles off of it, bc apparently those are held/fired similarly?) the tricky bit here is that they're both minors and wouldn't be allowed onto the range themselves so like....they need an Adult lol



also i'm trying to think if there's a snake monster regain bucky can get from a convo with baren, and like. it's driving me nuts because he has to, he can't have been a comics character since 1940 and not encountered some giant snake monster bullshit at some point, but i have no idea what it would be. (i have nothing productive to add here, just. wanted to get that out there.)
