ABOUT

Mementos has been added to Recolle as of July 2018 and is free for everyone to use! In the world of Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves are able to dive into the cognitive realm called the Metaverse where the subconscious manifests in outrageous ways. Mementos specifically represents the masses' cognition.

Mementos is capable of hosting small missions for those with slightly distorted hearts and for training purposes.

MISSIONS

Yes! Mementos can be used to host small missions.

Fetch quests may entail finding treasure chests or getting a drop from a Shadow (items include Tanaka's dumb shop).
There's general training (beat up # of Shadows).
Lastly, there's changing the hearts of rotten or wayward individuals. People with slightly distorted hearts may have a small pocket in Mementos where their Shadow resides, encompassing their flaws and their distorted desire. If beaten and desire stolen (it shows up as an item), the Shadow returns to its normal self and that change also translates into reality. Both NPCs and PCs can have a change of heart. THIS NEEDS MOD APPROVAL.

Here's an example: Part-time Job, Full-time Hell. A shop manager is extorting his subordinates. Remember to submit your heart change quest to the assignment board using the "SUBMIT: PLAYER-BASED ASSIGNMENT" form.

It's not always bad guys with distorted desires. Characters with destructive habits, such as shutting the world out or trapping themselves in a mindset, may also have a place in Mementos.

ACCEPTING A MISSION

When a character goes on an mission to Mementos, they will receive a new app next to Retrospec's called the Metaverse Navigator. The keywords given with the quest description that they must enter into the app is "Mementos." Once they press the screen, they'll be transported to the cognitive world. The app will last until the assignment is cleared or at the end of the month.

REWARDS? They can be found in treasure chests or by stealing treasure from Shadows. It's nothing that isn't in Tanaka's shop and maybe some enhanced accessories/gear.

POWERS? WEAPONS? They stay. Weapons may also be brought. Fake items such as toy guns, etc., will work like actual weapons in the Metaverse. The more realistic the item, the more powerful it is.

OUTFITS...? They can be dressed as they are or will be donned in an outfit that represents their justice. For example, Goro Akechi's princely outfit is his ideal representation of justice, then you have Ann and Yusuke who are both furries.

LOOK N' FEEL

Mementos is a dreary underground subway filled with Shadows that starts in dark colors at the beginning then redder as you descend to the world's core. It has different levels that can be reached by finding a station and going down the broken escalators or stairs. There are checkpoints that separate the blocks/areas. The number of floors per area is whatever number you want in your mission. I don't know who will police you.

Then there's the background music.

SHADOWS

Aside from personal Shadows that take the form of the person except with gold eyes (then they turn to whatever monster that represents their true self), Mementos currently has a handful of regular Shadows. Refer to this document (thank you, Yuff) and click on the Mementos tab.

On top of that, the Shadows may just... Smack you even if they only have a healing spell. Get creative.
