Hey Agnes! If characters succeeded in regaining their original AU, they would remember parts of the "fake" AU and have a vague recollection of these people, events, etc. They would be on-par with Retrospec weirdness and they would be able to recognize that it's something in them that was changed but not a permanent change. If he goes back, he would see those memories though.
