Springtime Fair Interest Check
So after discussing to the mods regarding about player plots, I just want to put this up for interest check about this potential player plot.
Now about the player plot, I was thinking of putting up a Springtime Fair in Recolle that might take place in April or May. Basically, there will be booths, dancing, contests, and such! There's also one of the main events, namely a charity auction for the animal shelter and the Recolle Zoo and Aquarium!
I really want to put this as a player plot, log, or something, but I want to hear your thoughts about this before I should submit this.
Also, this question for the mods, but am I doing it right? Just PM me in case something's wrong.
Regardless, just comment down below if you want me to put this as a player plot! I really need it since I'm very new on player plots... T_T

Other than that, I think this has some potential for fun. It's low impact and people can take it as they come.

Right now, April is somehow got it's schedule filled up due to the player plots planned out.

As a rule, shoot for a week after the core plot and you're probably good to go. That usually gives enough scheduling freedom in my opinion.

I've got an idea of my own, but I'm holding onto it for the moment. I kind of want the main plot a little more revealed before tossing it out. We're still in that nice spot where it's all happy, everyone's still mostly normal and the world is teetering on the brink of memory insanity. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts, right?

-Fortune Teller: Always a treat, and a good "volunteer point" for players to participate in. Fortunes can either be silly, or potentially revealing.
-Game Booths: Dunk Tanks (since it's late spring), baloon pops, ring tosses, all of these silly carny games are common to these sorts of events and can award the usual silly prizes.
-Food: Select 1-3 cultural types that might be represented as a sort of "Heritage," and focus your food options into these general categories (e.g. German for Oktoberfest). "Americana" style foods are a popular choice if you don't want to get culturally specific (Corn Dogs, Burgers, Fries, Cotton Candy, Funnel Cakes, Kettle Corn, Saspirilla, etc...)
-Informational Booths: Hey, if this is about Recolle's heritage, maybe have a couple informational booths up, to tell the story of the city's founding in appropriately vague terms.
-Carnival Rides: Tilt-a-Whirl, Haunted House, Merry-Go-Round w/ Chocobo, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars...
Add a charity function as the "Main Event" with the animal shelter being one of the big sponsors, alongside Retrospec (potentially), and you've got a good list to work with.

As for Retrospec as one of the sponsors, I'll consult with the mods about that.

And yes, I'd definitely say they're the ones to be sure about as far as Retrospec's involvement. Good luck on this one.

And thank you. I might need some more input from other players, though. But if this is enough, I'll submit this as a player plot through the plot submission right now, if that's okay.

-Gift Baskets donated by participating businesses: Usually available with products somewhere in the range of 50-100 dollars, these are normally auctioned for anywhere from 100-500 at charity events for the low-brow. They could be a part of the main event with the product being auctioned through a "Blind Auction" sealed bid.
-Auction, as the other respondant said, skills and available time. People donate their availability or the availability of a whole crew for a single day or weekend to do a specific job. These usually go for a lot more. Very common for social groups (Boy/Girl Scouts, Police Fraternities, Lion's Club, Masonic Lodge, big local churches, etc...)
-Special, Unique, Rare prizes: Classic old-fashioned auction. Some rich soul who loves animals a lot puts up 5-10 items from a prized collection, possibly with more with the help of others, and a standard bidding war is involved.
-"Part of the Proceeds...:" Maybe all booths donate 5-10% of their profits for the event to the animal shelter as a tax write-off.
You can use the bidding wars to be available for business-owners that want to participate on a 'higher end' and have plenty of sealed baskets/service auctions for people to buy or participate as auctioned workers. The "Purchased Items" should probably not have any sort of 'real value' to the setting. The point isn't to get that Joe DiMaggio baseball card. It's all about the fact that you just spent 10,000 dollars on a local charity benefit. Make sense?
(I will admit that this scale is getting outside of a local animal shelter, so you might consider tacking on a secondary charity, depending on how 'big' this goes.)

-Gift Baskets, low value, bid on with silent auctions. The sort of thing that could be handwaved easily as "I bought this."
-Selling and auctioning your services to do yard work, handy-work, etc... for a fee.
-Booths donate a small percentage of their profits.
For something like this, those three auctions make sense as a rule.

Far as the charity auction have you thought about what's being auctioned?

As for the auction, that I still need to figure it out... Any ideas?
