PLOT POST - March Welcome to our March plotting post! Please feel free to comment to these posts with your character's plans for the month or with what you would like to do for the month, and feel free to discuss those plans with everyone else! Here is the mod questions thread! You may also use this thread to leave comments about the below. MOD BULLETIN BOARD AC -As mentioned last month, we will be going forward with two different methods for players to turn in AC. Our first option will be keeping AC the same as before. This means that players may submit threads for points as always (network comments being 1 point, action comments being 2.) These will be counted as usual by the moderators. The second option will be changing AC to where players may submit a summary for bonus points instead, allowing the moderators to read and review a monthly write-up and determine points based on this. This write-up would be a summarization of what your character has done in the month whether it's plot-related threads, character development threads or more (please also provide links for cross-reference!) Dependent on the presentation and review of the summary, mods would determine the amount of points given each month. In addition, with these two choices we will host a points donation pool. Each month, we will allow for players to donate points to be awarded to their fellow players. Players may sign up to either donate to or receive from this pool, and at the end of the month (pre-AC closing), moderators will reply to sign-ups with the amount of points rewarded per month. This line item would then be added to your own AC for the month. Signing up to receive points does not disqualify you from turning in your own bonus points! NEW: Thanks to a suggestion in the mod write-up from February (which can be found here!), we will be keeping the pool open all month but we will allow players to use the points from this pool right away rather than waiting for the end of the AC cycle. As we're getting into endgame, a point was made that it doesn't make a lot of sense to have people wait on stuff and that there's an appeal in being able to play with canon powers right away. That said, we will allow players to sign up and then update their AC comments accordingly with donations received and items bought. Please see March's thread for donating and receiving points here and here. NEW: There has also been discussion about AC requirements! The game has shrunk and we have reviewed the options suggested. After careful consideration, we will be changing AC to: -15 comments (you can still submit up to 4 threads, 3 comment minimum per thread); editing to say that all comments can be claimed for bonus points now and the AC post will be updated post-AC to reflect this. -1 memory regain We feel that as a memloss/regain game, taking away the memory regain portion doesn't really make sense especially given there are opportunities for multiple freebies every month! If a character is starting to run out of memories that they may regain at this time, please let us know and we can discuss options/an opt-out for you! -We will have an opportunity for a monthly freebie every month going forward! However, we would like to clarify that all freebie regains must be applied for before the end of the AC period! We do not accept freebies beyond this barring specific circumstances. NEW: After reading the feedback post and reviewing, we realized that the structure of events is a little daunting! As such, for the month of March we're going to try something a little different to see if this helps with pacing and breaking things up a little bit. Please see below for the monthly calendar. IMPORTANT DATES 1st Retrospec post at 9pm EST 7th Event Log at 9pm EST 10th AU Workshop 17th TDM/Reserves/Second Retrospec post at 9pm EST 24th Apps open 31st AC Due, Apps close Ideally, the event log being a little later in the month but also providing a variety of prompts (see: February part 2) will allow players to play with all parts of the event while also being able to facilitate new CR and also have a "check-in" point during the second monthly network mingle. see our calendar for a look at upcoming dates this month and further! WORLD CHANGES • At this time there are no new world changes! Be sure to check out our world changes page over here and our world regains page to track all changes and read up on our guidelines. Players are free to buy back certain aspects of their canon to help impact and change the world as well, though we may delay the installment of some features for plot purposes. Players may also contribute points toward bringing back world patches representing their canons that other players may explore outside of the city! Please see the world changes page for more information. Of note: players are allowed to help contribute to buying world changes not from their own canon. Players may donate up to 500 points to another player's cause. When donating points to a canon buyback, please put them on the same world change page here! Please note, these are only for world changes and not items/powers/personal locations/etc. EVENTS Notes As we're going into an endgame period, here's a reminder of what's to come. -March-June. These events will be focused on certain measures to be taken to get us to endgame for not only Recollé but the areas around the city (i.e. the four regions.) Events will be heavily focused on mission-esque tasks, teamwork, alterations of specific areas and more. -July. This is the final month of gameplay, officially, to focus on ending the Vanderweele arc and will remain dependent on how the months prior play out. -August. Endgame! The moderator team will write a group of closing events for players to play with in August and after that the game will officially be in a sandbox mode. With this said, we will be hosting our last official application month for new characters in March! Previously dropped characters may be apped back in at any point between March and June, with the first of July being the final cut-off. More details about how the return of dropped characters will play out will be detailed during March's app cycle. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this schedule. EVENT With the destruction of facilities underground in the sixth layer, Retrospec users will feel something shift in the air and beneath their feet. The lab that was discovered has fallen silent and while the underground city still exists (and is available for characters to return to, wendigos and all), it seems as though Vanderweele's hold on that region has loosened. After an update from the liaison of your progress made (March 1st), users will come to realize that this is just the beginning and things will begin to abruptly change now that Vanderweele's attention has been caught. For the next week, users will be encouraged to prepare for another journey and to batten down the hatches, so to speak. We're in full-blown fighting mode now and there's no holding back. Users can spend the first week exploring the underground city, grabbing items and equipment, or simply spending time with friends and family. On March 7th, a portal will open to send volunteers to a wintery abyss in the sixth layer beneath Magatus. Much like before, the door will appear somewhere in Recollé, but this time instead of multiple doors it will be one that serves as an in and out point. Rather than driving the seven hours north, characters will find themselves navigating down an icy slippery slope into the new layer. With the guidance from the liaison, volunteers will be told of areas in this layer that have to be dismantled, scavenged, and scoured in order to free the region from Vanderweele's hold. Characters can expect to experience: -Extremely cold temperatures -Light psychological horror -Combative elements -Cosmic horror -Plot information This will be happening over the course of the rest of the month! It will take multiple attempts and efforts from all kinds to work on destroying what's in the layer and retrieving what's been left behind/freeing trapped souls. However…there's also Magatus itself to take care of. For those who aren't interested in delving into the sixth layer, the region itself will need to be cleared. Characters will be told that a rescue team should also be formed to help clear the area via evacuations, mountain rescues, supply raids and more. Ideally, the goal is to transport everyone from Magatus back to Recollé, but it seems as though the effects of Vanderweele's domain are seeping up into the top layers as well. Characters on rescue missions can expect to experience: -Winter conditions -Reconnaissance missions -Rabid animals -Struggles in travel including but not limited to road closures, car damage, etc. And for those of you staying behind in the city, there's still that weird evil eye lurking around. Though it's moved on to another region, and though the leylines have been cut, it seems as though it still has its own roots in the city of Recollé. During the time of these other missions, characters in the city will be able to mostly handle things as normal. They can go to school and to work, they can spend time with their friends and doing their hobbies, and they'll find that two large domes appear over the Recollé Art Museum and the concert hall. Well that's weird. These domes are visible to PCs and NPCs alike, but while NPCs are free to enter these places without issue, player characters who enter will experience a few other things. Upon entering the art museum at any time, characters will find that the paintings, photographs and sculptures begin to take on a mind of their own. Figures will escape their frames, sculptures will begin molding themselves into something new, and the setting around you warps to match the artistic view. Tired of being mounted in place, the art will express themselves and begin escaping out into the city. The sky takes on the appearance of Van Gogh's Starry Night. The Scream comes to life in the form of an NPC running up to you and shrieking in your ear. The Persistence of Memory leaves you with no escape as things begin to melt and fold over themselves, blocking your path. Herding everything back in place may be complicated, but doable. Likewise, should you investigate the concert hall instead you'll find yourself in a pitch black room. The power's out and with a line-up of bands waiting to play time is of the essence to get the houselights working. Flipping breakers and checking wires alone won't work. There seems to be something only you can do to bring the light back…but what's that skittering around coming from the rafters? Better get on that. As a note, players do not have to play with all of these! There will be no more than 6 prompts for the most part (3 for the sixth layer, 2 for the city, 1 for the region of Magatus) and the event will be going for the entire month. The second network post will serve as a check-point as well for characters to share notes, etc. FREEBIE -Players may claim one freebie for a thread on the mod-posted Retrospec post. This thread should be ten comments from you. -Players may claim one freebie for a thread on the second mod-posted Retrospec post. -Players may claim one freebie for a thread confronting an art piece. This must be at least 5 comments from you. -Players may claim one freebie tackling the electricity problem in the concert hall. This must be at least 5 comments from you. -Players may claim one freebie for a thread on the second log exploring an area in the Mythos layer of Magatus. This must be at least 5 comments from you. -Additional freebies will be listed for various prompts on the event log. -For your reference, check out the plot clues/finds page found here! This is all for OOC knowledge, though characters have been spreading the information ICly as well. As of this post, this plot page is up to date. -Additionally, if you haven't yet be sure to check out the regains guide to help outline what kind of triggers will work for obtaining regains and memories in-game. Hello! Question about AC! (This may have been addressed but I didn't quite see it my second read through)

I know that if we get new CR only half of the AC doesn't count for points while the other half does. This was easy to do when it was an even number like 20. But with 15 should it be 7 comments that don't count for points or 8?

Hey, it's Lisa with James/Bucky here! I kind of seriously dropped the ball in February because life hit me like a mack truck, but I'm gonna try and be better about March!

One thing I def want him to do is go down to the sixth layer in Magatus and get in on some of that psychological/cosmic horror! And plot info. And, y'know, helping people too, I guess. Anyone who wants to team up with him for that wonderful little cocktail, hit me up! He's very combat-oriented, so if necessary he can team up with someone who's less combat-focused and give them cover while they complete the tasks?

Alternatively, he might do a couple of regular-layer Magatus missions! I love having James do recon missions--especially with people who are loud/rowdy and inexperienced with them, because it gives him a chance to actually be the calm, reasonable one for once haha

Also, I'm planning to just fuckin splurge on like every possible item regain I can get for him now, to prep for endgame! I'm gonna flood this guy with weapons. He's gonna be a one-man armory. (SORRY FOR THE SUDDEN INFLUX OF WEAPONS IN THE HOUSE, EREN) He can be your shady backalley weapons dealer, if you want--and if he trusts that you're not gonna fuck up using any of it. Hell, he might even let someone borrow the Captain America shield for safety!

I might even give him his fancy interchangeable-hand arm, so if anyone's good at mechanics and wants to build him some kind of special new hand attachment, let's talk! Especially if it's something incredibly stupid. Please. Someone build him a 'hand' that's just like. a rubber ducky that honks obnoxiously whenever he 'makes a fist' with it.

Or, if you wanna do something else, or something not plot-related, let me know! I love stupid shenanigans and I will move heaven and earth to make them happen if anyone wants.

It's finally here: Malik has been in game for 2 years yaaaay ✨ ✨

EVENT
My primary focus will be on the Magatus layer for the event, as I'm all about the cosmic horror and well. Malik's life is already a psychological horror trip half the time (or so he thinks). Idle hands are the devil's playthings, as they say, so he doesn't really have much of a motive for being in the later under Magatus. He's bored. He doesn't work or go to school or do anything useful with his life.

Possibly might regain some additional abilities, like telekinesis or some other bullshit for Ra. Fireball canon??? Maybe. Malik's abilities are more on the "so narrative specific they're functionally useless" side of things, but on the non-supernatural side, he's decent enough at scavenging and being able to build traps and uh. bombs. probably. He also has the ability to argue about literally anything and never shut up until he feels like he's won. It is not a good power but one that he possesses. He can also kind of possess people.

SEEKING
Overall I want to have a more solid grasp of Malik's skillsets and work on building positive ones, since it's hard to talk up things like "he's good at building things" when it's not something I thread out often. Despite the nature of the event, I also want to work through the psychological horror parts and maybe get him to open up a little more. He's... kind of getting there? He's working on it. He won't dump his Tragic Backstory™ on anyone who asks, but since he typically mentions his regains in really obtuse ways, if your character is the type to ask pointed questions or tbh, generally call out his shifty behavior, hmu.

REGAINS
I play fast and loose with Malik's regains and don't need to angle for anything specific! Yugioh is weird. HOWEVER, I can help with regains regarding organized crime, cults, alternate personalities, mind control/brainwashing, general scum and villainy, ghosts, gods, and of course, card games.

soooooooo when you say brainwashing... what kind of brainwashing methods are we talking about? though this more easily falls under alternate personalities as well.

b/c at one point, Rinka gets mentally conditioned in order to protect her from telepaths. when triggered, it brings out a secondary personality so a telepath is unable to read Rinka's true intentions. only problem is it starts kicking in on its own as her psyche tries to protect her from what she's going through. :'D

ANYWAY. i mean. you know i'm always down for trying to coax some Personal Growth out of these two even despite their bad blood. I feel like they kinda relapsed with being snotty last month but idk, march can be a month with more civility. James can act as a bodyguard for him if he needs haha

James also isn't the type to ask hugely probing questions about Tragic Backstories, but he does know like. a few details about Malik's shit. So he might just ask very vague questions that are secretly pointed. (that, or the psych horror aspects, whatever they may be, could prompt that?)

Hello everyone! It's RC with your friendly neighborhood Crow Armbrust!

It's going to be quite the emotional rollercoaster with Crow, as his heavier regains are going to start taking effect and delve into the darker part of his past life. Mostly his brief stint with terrorism and the power of friendship winning you over.

Well, almost. Crow's going to be getting back his scar from when he was impaled (it happens) which is just the tip of the iceberg. He'll also regain quite a few memories of him clearly on the opposite side of his friends.

In addition, he'll be getting this beauty of a weapon and hopefully will regain his true stronk. It's going to all be a bit overwhelming for him, especially because despite his few hiccups, he'd felt pretty confident he was a loyal friend.

So yeah. FUN TIMES AHEAD FOR THIS ONE.

Once he's coaxed out of his mental shutdown, he'll probably take part in the rescue missions. Since this life takes priority, he'll be doing his usual first aid and rescues to help the citizens.

It's all pretty loose right now, and I'll probably know more once the actual event goes up, but I'm up for any sort of bonding/plotting, rescue teaming-upping that you can think of!

And then it will open up Derek to regaining the memories of talking to a ghost in the bathroom and the knowledge of forcing crabbe and goyle to drink polyjuice potion to look like little girls. Great friend material there!

SUP REC, it's ya girl Len with Inaba/Raina! I'm actually going to be technically on hiatus this month due to having to wait for laptop repairs most likely for the bulk of the month, but I still wanted to plan things out anyway - I will get to replies on February's event log as well for those who got to me, just know that I might be slow, as I'm doing a lot of these responses on mobile.

Anyway, February was a Bad Month for Raina, as she almost tried to maul some people thanks to being bitten by Wendigos and her brother almost killed her for it, but she's Fine, really, I promise... (She is absolutely not fine.)

For the early part of February, she's going to become a shut-in: any classmates might notice her not going to class, and those who might frequent the cosplay cafe she works at might not see her there either (even if she is working there incognito under a different name) but she will be responding to the Retrospec posts, even if she won't talk about things related to last month's fiasco, as she'll be denying it vehemently, going, "what are you talking about???"

Other than that, I'm hoping to have her regain the confession from Taichi asking her out this month as a freebie and she's definitely going to stay in the city because she doesn't want to make the same mistakes by going back down to the sixth layer, oops. It's also going to take some effort for her to actually want to leave her apartment, someone please hunt her down.... She's a Mess.

Other than that, I don't have any real concrete plans, so feel free to yell at me for planning, either here or via plurk (endlesseight)!

Tatsuo will be going back to the sixth layer! He's pretty motivated to take Vanderweele down and this seems like the most direct approach, even if he's a soft squishy norm with no powers. But he's the most interested in the plot out of my three, so there we go. He's not going to be too wild about the cosmic horror, but oh well.

More personally, Tatsuo will be getting back a flashdrive that hits at the true nature of the orphange his past self grew up in. (Organ donations. It's organ donations. D:) He's not going to be too thrilled about this. Someone pls hug him.

Li-Na Yiu / Lenalee Lee | D.Gray-Man | invocate

Li-Na will also be going back to the sixth layer! Though mostly b/c she's still progressing toward her Innocence transforming into Crystal Type, and the more fights I can put her through the better. And now that her last regain effect has worn off, she'll be able to cut loose. Point her at some monsters, she wants to kick things.

And while I think I have most of the emotional ground laid now, I still haven't delved into the whole Lvellie thing. :| Or just how much Lenalee hated the Order. So that might be coming up.

Rinka Smith / Rinka Urushiba | Tokyo ESP | psykick

Rinka's going to be all over the place. Might send her down to the sixth layer again, but I think she'll mostly be helping about with the Magatus rescue operations! I think I can mine that part for some regains. She will be getting back her kali, aikido, hair color, eye color, and possibly more! So if we talked ICly or OOCly about Rinka getting her fight on with your character /points at eyes, points at you/ let's do this.

I still have a looooot of regains I can get for her in regards to different powers. So let's talk abilities.

You know who shouldn't be writing a plotting comment before she's even had coffee? Ya girl Kay, over here with Rean Schwarzer, but much like my character I've never made a good decision in my life and like hell I'm gonna start now.

SO FEBRUARY SURE HAPPENED FOR REAN! He capped off the month by turning full-blown into some kind of monstrous version of himself and tried to kill both his sister and his best friend, and naturally, he's dealing with all of this in a perfectly healthy and rational manner.

Which is to say, Rean has been mysteriously absent from everything and everywhere he used to be since the ogredrive incident. He's not in his dorm, either. People will still be able to find him around town, but never in any of his usual haunts and usually hiding off in a corner of wherever he is or trying desperately to blend in if he can't. He's also stopped responding to messages (on the app or otherwise) entirely. Neat!

As such, he's probably going to be scarce on the Retrospec post, whoops. And for at least the first part of events, I imagine he'll be staying within the city and helping with the art gallery/electricity problems.

If anyone has any other ideas, as always I'm open to just about anything! Hopefully I'll be able to get a little more on the ball this month than I was last.

An Zhen here with Draco Malfoy/Derek Matthews from Harry Potter blondferret. I don't have any solid plans for Derek, but still feel free do message me on my plurk if you want to do anything: beianzhen

• Derek is a 26 year old CSI at the Recolle Crime labs, so he does spend time there.
• Derek now has up through 6th year level magic and can also apparate 25 yards, and has two of the unforgiveable curses back (imperio and crucio). So any help on him remembering a bunch of spells would be welcomed!
• For a list of spells Derek needs to regain look here!
• Derek has Fantastic Beast and Where to Fine Them so if you'd like to help him remember a certain magical creature exists, please do!
• He also has his CHEERING CHARM an his REPAIRING CHARM! So I am thinking of doing a post about those spells if anyone is interested.

• I am down for Derek going down to the 6th layer. I need him to remember as many spells as possible. I might have him all over the place to be honest.

Hi everyone! It's Yuff with her one character, Elliot Craig from Trails of Cold Steel!

Like everyone's, Elliot's had a pretty eventful month with a number of bad things happening. But tbh that's pretty par for the course for Elliot's luck, so he's ready for action and to help out. I think he will be heading to Magatus to help out with the rescue of folks, since healers gotta heal and he's semi-familiar with the Magatus region thanks to trips up there.

In the meantime he's going to be trying to sort out a couple messes with castmates. This is what Elliot gets for not being more forthcoming about his memories. Way to go Elliot. It turns out be quiet and hope for the best is not a great plan.

Other than that, i'm mostly going with the flow. I might have a couple spells I'll want to regain, but other than that I'm taking things as they come.

I'll need to double check when I get home to see if Rinka even crosses paths with her (I think she might for like, one single scene) but there's a healer in her world who hulks up on solar energy in order to power her healing ability. Completely opposite element as Elliot, but it would make for a funny conversation I think.

Togusa is in the home stretch, which means he's a little more unstable right now. What's that? A bunch of stuff to shoot to bury my feelings? Don't mind if I do! He's going straight down to the sixth layer, bringing the armor, bringing the tank, let's do this. Togusa's strength is actually going to be reconnaissance, I might even throw points at Isamu to make him be able to turn functionally invisible, too, we'll see.

Primarily, Togusa is very interested in bringing back to Zee samples of anything that he can. He understands that some things are going to need to be destroyed, but Zee gave the damn fool the hope that they can separate out the soul energy of the original person and their Other at the end, if they repurpose what Vanderweele was up to. Togsua hopes this means that they have more of a choice of what happens when this memory recall process finishes. Can Togusa maintain his existence here while rebuilding the other Togusa's world? So, expect a lot more philosophical talks about the differences between them, too.

Talks with Mariko didn't go the best, but he will still be discussing this whole Laughing Man thing and circling the drain to try to work the last pieces of it out. I can give him a lot of random combat memories from the stand alone episodes this month, we'll just have to see how the main anime plot memory develops. (Let's be real, Togusa will still totally go fight things with Mariko, too.)

→ he's been on the down low lately, but it's partially because he hasn't been resting properly lately. he's been pretty worried about his npc friends/cr so he's been going over to visit each one and make sure that they're fine. soooo, yeah, passing out in the last event won't be a one-time thing. it's fine, it's fine, no one talk to him or ask him how he's doing

→ kokichi is brand new, just coming in last month, and adjusting to everything! he's... an ass, to say the least, since he can make some insensitive jokes and is a pathological liar. he doesn't have a single positive cr in the game asides from his sister (sleepingknight) so yeah, that should say everything about him
→ if anyone cares about drv3 spoilers, here is what he's regaining in the spoiler text: he'll be getting back an exisal: a giant killing robot that has a flamethrower, machine gun, and all that nonsense?? honestly, he shouldn't have been given one of those... but he'll be getting back and trying to put it to good use. you know, after he fools around with it a bit. if anyone wants a wiki for more info on the regain, it is here.
→ as a result of the above regain, he will be heading into the sixth layer. he will be using the regain completely and if anyone needs help, then he guesses he will be there. maybe! probably! hmmm!
→ also this is not related to this month's event but i would like as many people as possible to meet kokichi in person. he's 6'1" in this au but he's actually only 5'1" in his ou. i'd like for people to meet him at his 6'1" height and then he shrinks next month. i want as many people to make fun of him and for him to i guess bite ankles in return

Sup, it's Luna with Xiaolang/Syaoran Li, and boy, does he have opinions about these sixth layers.

I'm waffling whether to send him to help with the layer/Magatus stuff (especially since he may have inadvertently stumbled upon something like it in Respatrum last year), but he also... is really, really bad with even normal levels of cold, so if anyone wants to rope him into rescue/exploration things, let me know! He has fire/wind/water/lightning magic, and probably hoarded a lot of medical stuff/chemicals/a goddamn grappling gun from the abandoned city, so he's well prepared for whatever gets thrown their way (... well, probably, anyway)

That said, I do want him to do the city prompts as well! The Concert Hall will be great for regains, and he can use his magic to try to generate some electricity, but I do want to unleash my inner art-nerd for the museum as well, haha-- catch him trying to chase down a unicorn because somebody's magic brought The Unicorn In Captivity to life!!

On the non-event side, Xiaolang's really got nothing going on outside of the normal school/training stuff, though he is kiiiiind of low-key worrying since he remembered something last month that's not sitting well with him-- namely the possibility he might be hiding something from his girlfriend and he doesn't know what. So that's fun! I'm debating on having him finally regain his magic compass this month (and possibly... other things stored in said compass...), but we'll see how that goes!

I dropped the ball hard last month and hiatused thanks to a family emergency, but hopefully I should be able to get into the swing of things for March! So feel free to hmu here or @ Urameshi if you want to plot!

eren is going to be doing both scouting the sixth layer and rescuing! might have to see what those are to really get into things, but combat is my jam. he can be a beacon of heat shortly after shifting or hurting himself as well, so if anyone needs to warm up . . . you can try (????) he’s also a good voice of spongegar wisdom for people who are lost and feeling monstrous 👌

now ahmi has a lot more going on, and i would like for cr or anyone who plans on interacting with her from now on take a look at this post! ahmi has regained her godhood and what your characters will see will mostly depend on how they feel about faith! (except the awoo, everyone is welcomed to see that or not) :) for top levels or tag outs, I’ll probably re-link it in case people have missed it, but I’m really excited to play around with this!!

second, she’s also going to regain a few brush techniques beyond weapons, most of which may be helpful for the setting! sunrise, inferno, blizzard and rejuvenation, respectively!

in addition!! ahmi will be meeting these brush gods as she gets them, so the option is open for one person each to be present with her while she literally



does the thing. brush spirits that will come to say hello will be a dragon, a phoenix and an ox. if anyone can get regains with that and wouldn’t mind hints to ahmi being dog almighty, then i’d love to!!
