PLOT POST - April Welcome to our April plotting post! Please feel free to comment to these posts with your character's plans for the month or with what you would like to do for the month, and feel free to discuss those plans with everyone else! Here is the mod questions thread! You may also use this thread to leave comments about the below. MOD BULLETIN BOARD AC -As mentioned last month, we will be going forward with two different methods for players to turn in AC. Our first option will be keeping AC the same as before. This means that players may submit threads for points as always (network comments being 1 point, action comments being 2.) These will be counted as usual by the moderators. The second option will be changing AC to where players may submit a summary for bonus points instead, allowing the moderators to read and review a monthly write-up and determine points based on this. This write-up would be a summarization of what your character has done in the month whether it's plot-related threads, character development threads or more (please also provide links for cross-reference!) Dependent on the presentation and review of the summary, mods would determine the amount of points given each month. In addition, with these two choices we will host a points donation pool. Each month, we will allow for players to donate points to be awarded to their fellow players. Players may sign up to either donate to or receive from this pool, and at the end of the month (pre-AC closing), moderators will reply to sign-ups with the amount of points rewarded per month. This line item would then be added to your own AC for the month. Signing up to receive points does not disqualify you from turning in your own bonus points! NEW: Thanks to a suggestion in the mod write-up from February (which can be found here!), we will be keeping the pool open all month but we will allow players to use the points from this pool right away rather than waiting for the end of the AC cycle. As we're getting into endgame, a point was made that it doesn't make a lot of sense to have people wait on stuff and that there's an appeal in being able to play with canon powers right away. That said, we will allow players to sign up and then update their AC comments accordingly with donations received and items bought. Please see April's thread for donating and receiving points here and here. NEW: There has also been discussion about AC requirements! The game has shrunk and we have reviewed the options suggested. After careful consideration, we will be changing AC to: -15 comments (you can still submit up to 4 threads, 3 comment minimum per thread.) All comments can be claimed for bonus points now. -1 memory regain If a character is starting to run out of memories that they may regain at this time, please let us know and we can discuss options/an opt-out for you! -We will have an opportunity for a monthly freebie every month going forward! However, we would like to clarify that all freebie regains must be applied for before the end of the AC period! We do not accept freebies beyond this barring specific circumstances. Please see below for the monthly calendar. IMPORTANT DATES 1st Retrospec post at 9pm EST 7th Event Log at 9pm EST 17th Second Retrospec post at 9pm EST 30th AC Due see our calendar for a look at upcoming dates this month and further! WORLD CHANGES • At this time there are no new world changes! Be sure to check out our world changes page over here and our world regains page to track all changes and read up on our guidelines. Players are free to buy back certain aspects of their canon to help impact and change the world as well, though we may delay the installment of some features for plot purposes. Players may also contribute points toward bringing back world patches representing their canons that other players may explore outside of the city! Please see the world changes page for more information. Of note: players are allowed to help contribute to buying world changes not from their own canon. Players may donate up to 500 points to another player's cause. When donating points to a canon buyback, please put them on the same world change page here! Please note, these are only for world changes and not items/powers/personal locations/etc. EVENTS Notes After careful review of the state of the game, the playerbase, the pacing of the game and mod availability, we may be adjusting the endgame timeline just a bit. Please see below. -April and May. These events will be focused on certain measures to be taken to get us to endgame for not only Recollé but the areas around the city (i.e. the four regions.) Events will be heavily focused on mission-esque tasks, teamwork, alterations of specific areas and more. -June. The first half will focus on wrapping up everything within the remaining areas of the game, etc, and the latter half will focus on Vanderweele and the state of the city. -July. Endgame! The moderator team will write a group of closing events for players to play with in August and after that the game will officially be in a sandbox mode. As previously mentioned, previously apped and accepted characters may turn in applications at any time between now and the month prior to endgame (in the above scenario, the beginning of June.) Please see the application page for more information. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this schedule. EVENT With the citizens of Magatus safely evacuated (for better or worse) and brought back to the city, and with the layer below the region cleared out, Magatus is officially marked off as "safe" from Vanderweele's reach. Retrospec users will find themselves drawn back to the city and receive an update from the liaison of things to come in the future. With new research and information on hand, the liaison will mention that the next area of interest will be Pesgare, as things are starting to shift beneath the seaside village. While not nearly as much of a threat and at risk as Magatus, Pesgare will require users to venture out to the lay below and explore the bases set up. On March 7th, a portal will open to send volunteers to an aquatic landscape to drain the area, comb the ocean floor, and dismantle various equipment and monitors in the water. Characters can expect to experience: -Deep sea pressures -Underwater cities and traps -Sea monsters -Plot information regarding things in the city. While not as time-sensitive as previous months, this is something that is urgent and will be encouraged by the liaison. Aside from that, back in the city, characters will find that the liaison has moved offices again and has started putting work into fixing up the old, underground subways in the city. Getting the trains to work, the liaison will explain that the journey will take citizens to areas far off, and that it may be best to go in prepared to explore, map out and decide if these areas are worth colonizing to expand the city itself. Characters on colonization missions can expect to experience: -Travel to other planets -Drastic differences in environments -Light cosmic horrors and creatures -Embodiments of canons represented in-game. It seems that these areas are the ones as grown by Retrospec members as they've regained their memories. Though they may not be complete or finalized, they may be worth exploring. And finally...that weird evil eye is still around. A mechanical azathoth, it seems to be watching the progress of the city but otherwise isn't causing harm. It may be up to citizens to try and get a closer look, and decide if the eye is safe as is or if it should be dismantled, too. Spring is in the air, Retrospecters. Life can go on as usual, but it seems this is the calm before the storm. Prepare yourself, but be sure to take time for yourself, too. As a note, players do not have to play with all of these! There will be no more than 6 prompts for the most part and the event will be going for the entire month. The second network post will serve as a check-point as well for characters to share notes, etc. FREEBIE -Players may claim one freebie for a thread on the mod-posted Retrospec post. This thread should be ten comments from you. -Players may claim one freebie for a thread on the second mod-posted Retrospec post. -Players may claim one freebie for a thread exploring Pesgare. This must be at least 5 comments from you. -Additional freebies will be listed for various prompts on the event log. -For your reference, check out the plot clues/finds page found here! This is all for OOC knowledge, though characters have been spreading the information ICly as well. Hi guys!

Len here with Himeko Inaba/Raina Schwarzer back from my hiatus and she's dealing with the aftermath of essentially being a shut-in for a month. That was a thing. She's going to try and attempt to open up a little more even though she's still struggling with her trust issues. But she's going to at least try a little more to improve herself. "Try" being the key word here.

She learned a lot from her memories last month and she thinks that her past self is better than her current self. Someone please befriend her.

Raina herself is also a Pretty Normal Non-Combative Person which means she'll definitely need assistance with missions, although she can definitely help with analysis and the like! Other than that, I don't really have any specific plans.

Jisu with Lina Ellis (DCSHG Supergirl), who's dealing with losing almost all her CR over the past half-year and some and has come to terms with being probably the only one who wants to fully integrate with her past self and return to her old life. She's realized that leaving Recollé behind is the worst-case scenario for others and has agreed to sacrifice that want for them, but now comes the question of what she should do, aside from try to keep smiling.

Since Lina has her super breath, she'd be good for water or space exploration as she can hold her breath for that long. She'll be throwing herself into a lot of missions, but I don't have any specific plans.

Malik, 18 year old punk & high school drop out will be heading to the subway to... probably cause more trouble than help, but! He has telekinesis now and can move things, so that'll be fun for him to play with. Depending on what elements of canons are used, it could put him on edge due to trauma because Yu-Gi-Oh is surprisingly fucked up for a manga focused on selling cards. Or maybe it'll just rain heiroglyphs or something and Malik will stare increduously into the middle distance. Who knows! I don't!

As for regains or just specific character-arc related topics, Malik has association with cults, organized crime, brainwashing/mind control, murder, convoluted death traps, self destructive behavior, split personality/identity crisis, ancient egypt, and card games. Did I even mention Malik was a villain? Because he was if that wasn't... obvious...

Character-arc wise, he's kinda backsliding since he's struggling to reconcile how he feels about the hand he was dealt in this life vs. his past self and where his various identities intersect blah blah. Anyway: it's fine to tell him to get over himself, I promise. It's all part of recovery, yo.

Hello hello! I'm Dani and I play Yuuki Konno aka Yuuki Ouma in this AU! She's currently in the body of her MMORPG fairy character because she's from Sword Art Online and that means the bulk of the series is people playing vidya, so yes, she is now literally her past self's video game character. Her abilities mostly include being ridiculously fast with a sword and also flying! Which she now has the hang of! It's very nice.

This month I'm mostly interested in throwing her into the subways, but if folks are interested in adventuring with her ~*under the sea*~ I'm open to that as well! She'll be trying to help wherever she can, she'll just also probably be somewhat occupied with memories involving her castmate joining the crew on the app and pestering various current CR. (Please let me know if you would like some pestering.)

As for things she's experienced that could lead to regains, her past life deals primarily with virtual reality games, MMORPGs, having a guild in said MMORPGs, swordsmanship, fairies, terminal illness, being orphaned, and a shaky relationship with religion.

Hellooo~ RC here with Crow Armbrust! A lot happened in March and quite honestly he is glad it's over with. He dealt with accepting his past self as being a terrorist and ...dying, and he's going to attempt to atone for his past self's mistakes by being better in this life. With like. 100% less terrorism. He's also got a boyfriend now! Weird how those two things kinda coincided. In like a lion, as they always say.

Mostly, Crow's just going to be settling into his life and starting to stabilize himself in this city. His life is slowly piecing itself together and it's a little overwhelming, but in a good way. This month Crow will probably take to the subways, but if you have an idea where he could go deep sea beachcombing I'm all ears! I've got no real PLANS for the event this month, so we can see where things take us.

As far as combat goes, he now owns a sweet double saber (think darth maul blade but with actual sword and not lightsaber) and two pistols. SO he's good for long and short range. I do want him to get some battle regains this month, so training stuff is always a go for me!

And thank you so much for your patience last month, friends. I was on vacation for a decent portion of the month (mentally and physically) so I didn't tag out nearly as much as I would like.

So... Tatsuo is dealing with some things. Finding out there was some black market organ donation going on in his past life. Finding out his past life did not have a happy ending. His girlfriend dropping off the network. He's sad, and angry, and frustrated. Which means he'll be throwing himself into one mission or another. He likes Pesgare, so he might head out there, but I might send him down into the subways as well.

He does need some distraction from all the emotional shit he's going through though. So if anyone just wants to have a thread with him that is plain ol' SOL before the missions kick off, he would appreciate some mundane interactions. Come pet his dog. Or have coffee with him.

Types of regains Tatsuo can help with: police corruption, murder, orphanages with questionable purposes, organ donation, yakuza, 20 year plans of revenge

Li-Na Yiu / Lenalee Lee | D.Gray-Man | invocate
Li-Na, meanwhile, is progressing toward Lenalee's Innocence turning crystal and the ensuing battle with the Level 4. Will keep working on that in April and try to dig at Lvellie and all the creepy vibes he gives off. Mission-wise, Li-Na will be going into the subway as well as after the eyeball. After hearing about it from Ahmi, she's wanting a closer look at that eyeball monster.

Types of regains Li-Na can help with: exorcism, child soldiers, necromancy (sort of), demons (sort of), semi-sentient weapons

Rinka Smith / Rinka Urushiba | Tokyo ESP | psykick
So, at the last minute, I decided Rinka needed to find out she died... for a few minutes, but from when she woke in the hospital after she was revived. But the next time she gets in a fight with someone or something... Anyway, Rinka will be heading out to Pesgare and down into the subway. I think I've got some regains I can swing on both locations.

Types of regains Rinka can help with: superheros (or attempts to be), animals with powers, powered humans (phasing, teleportation, telepathy/illusions)

Hi all! Quad here with Al/ Alibaba Saljua.

So Al has realized a few things.

1) He is jealous of his last life

2) HE ISN'T AN HORRIBLE ASSHOLE that deserves to be miserable!

Granted, he doesn't know if he is a good friend or not but at least he FINALLY got it through his thick skull that he isn't a bad person and it's not the worst thing in the world to be happy.

Although he is losing some CR that would make him sad though, just when he made the realization that maybe he shouldn't be hard on himself, oh well. He'll try to take his mind off of it somehow...

Going to probably keep him in the city, explore the train stations, he might venture to the water place and try practicing his most powerful magic! Which...is doomed to backfire four times. I also plan to either give him flying or the ability to mix his magic with other people's magic, so fun shenanigans can happen with that!

The stuff he can help you remember

Fire stuff, swordplay, thieving, talk of monsters, self-doubt/insecurities, some talk of magic, did I mention theiving? Gosh, it's been a while since he stole some stuff. Shame if he were to slip into old habits.

All right, I'm gonna level with you all. March sucked on an RL level for me, it's April 1st and nothing is shaping up to be better, everything is due, and I'm crying.

So. Originally when I posted this I said I wasn't going to hiatus, but on second thought, I think I am. (I'll put in for that as soon as I've finished editing this post.)

That said, Rean will still be kind of around, if you want to (very slowly) tag. In general, he'll be Being Helpful, as the Rean is wont to do, but I don't have any ideas in particular.

Basically, if you want me? Just point me to where you want to go, because I am way too tired to tag out myself.

Hey guys, it's Redd, and I'm bringing you three characters for plotting!! Yeager (Jaeger) and Shigure have been here for awhile, but Alucard (Adrian) from Netflix's Castlevania is brand new! In general, I'm really interested in the subways and where they go, but I'm always up for Pesgare missions too!

As for specifics:

Jaeger has regained most of his memories at this point and is trying to sort out just what he thinks about Yeager and how to consider his past life in relation to himself. It's a lot of deep introspection that he doesn't want to talk about, so instead let's go on missions and do stuff!! Who knows, maybe he'll figure things out as we go.

Let me know if there's anything you need help with for memories, Yeager was a generally terrible person who dealt with other terrible people, so his memories are all over the place in terms of "yikes". He ran a guild of assassins! He put an incredibly complex plan into action to get one man killed (and succeeded)! He was being threatened to work for someone! You know, that sort of fun stuff.

Shigure spent last month drowning in regains, so now he looks like his canon self and has an adorable talking cat who can chill inside of him. So if you ever want to deal with Morgrim, let me know! She's less a cat and more a refined lady, but maybe she'll let you pet her. He's also got his massive sword, but he doesn't have the strength to use it yet. That's the next thing I'm getting for him, though! In general he's still trying to figure more out about his past life, he doesn't really have much of an opinion on it yet.

He doesn't have a ton of memories he can help with right now, unfortunately, but I'd love it if anyone could help with difficult sibling relationships! Shigure has a brother in the AU, and in canon he was a tremendous asshole to his little brother so it'd be great for him to remember that! Also sword-fighting. Most of his memories involve that.

Lastly, I have Adrian! He's new this month but given the shenanigans that happened during the test drive, he is not going to have fun here. He'll be doing his best to get caught up to speed on what's happening here, and even though he's very busy with school (he'll be graduating college soon!) he's definitely here to help. Please teach him the ropes... He obviously doesn't have any abilities back yet, so hopefully he doesn't get involved in anything fighty (unless you'd like him to see your awesome abilities).

Adrian has a good amount to remember, particularly dealing with fighting and wanting to kill his dad, and also some people that may or may not be his friends. Oh yeah, he's also half-human, half-vampire so that's fun. (Don't worry, he will not have to drink blood to survive once he regains that.) If you can help with anything (especially the difficult family relationship with his dad) that would be wonderful!

Oh yeah, and if you want to arrange previous CR with Adrian, I'm still good for that too! Just let me know and I'm sure we can work something out!

Hello! I am Dal, I'm here with my three guys as usual! I'm not positive how around I'll be this month, in the interest of full disclosure, because April is annually a really hard month for me and I'm already starting out great, but I'm going to do my best!

Albert Wesker | Resident Evil | manufactured
Wesker is a 40-year-old former world-ending supervillain who has regained almost all of his memories from his past life; he's sorted himself out existentially and figured out where he wants to be on that front, he's still trying to put forth a good faith effort to...fuck up less? "Fucking up less" sounds like a good option. He's generally just trying to get through things without killing everyone and breaking everything around him because Vanderweele's bullshit is entirely too close to bullshit of a certain nature that he dealt with in his past life, and he's generally not talking about and trying to ignore recent CR loss because he's well-adjusted like that.

He's likely to be in Pesgare at least briefly because there are...underwater...things...he wants to verify are not under any sort of immediate threat look he had a really weird encounter with some really hot mermen once but generally his interest will be with the subways; memories he's capable of triggering for people involve things like medical experimentation, body horror, death, judgment, brainwashing, inhuman monsters, viruses, the undead, free will or a lack thereof, attempts to end the world, all sorts of stuff like that.

Alexander von Cumore | Tales of Vesperia | drydrown
Cumore is turning 29 this month, which means he's outlived his canon life by two years (yay...); he's an ADA, and his past life was a knight that apparently believed the Magna Carta was a suggestion, liked to kill the poor, and tried to go to war with a bunch of people because he wanted power and thought that would achieve it somehow, seeing as logical conclusions were not precisely his thing back then. He's another one that hates talking about his feelings on things, and so he's just going to ignore them until he screams at someone, I'm really sorry about him?

I don't have any solid plans with him yet, so if you want...anything to do with him for some godforsaken reason let me know and I'll be there; memories he's capable of triggering involve death, oppression by the upper class, and all sorts of weird medieval fantasy JRPG bullshit.

Artorius Collbrande (AU: Arthur Crowe) | Tales of Berseria | armati
Arthur is 32 and a professor of Religious Studies at Recollé University; he's got some self-esteem problems and a weirdly intense outlook on helping people but generally speaking he's doing his best. His past life was the leader of a religious order that believed in reason over emotion, he did some objectively terrible things to try to save the world from destroying itself, and Arthur is...trying very hard to make his peace with that and for the time being he's just kind of neutral on the whole thing. ...He's also losing the use of his right arm very shortly, because I'm not a nice person?

He's another one I don't have any solid plans for, so let me know if you want anything! Memories he's capable of triggering involve family-oriented things (marriage/siblings), mind control/brainwashing, forced emotional suppression, ritual sacrifice, and interacting with the supernatural.

An Zhen here with Draco Malfoy/Derek Matthews from Harry Potter blondferret. I don't have any super solid plans for Derek, but still feel free do message me on my plurk if you want to do anything: beianzhen

• Derek is a 26 year old CSI at the Recolle Crime labs, so he does spend time there.
• Derek now has up through 6th year level magic and can also apparate 25 yards, and has two of the unforgiveable curses back (imperio and crucio). So any help on him remembering a bunch of spells would be welcomed!
• For a list of spells Derek needs to regain look here!
• Derek has Fantastic Beast and Where to Fine Them so if you'd like to help him remember a certain magical creature exists, please do!
• I am thinking of doing a post about all of the side effects of the shit ton of memories I gave him at the end of last month. I need volunteers to witness these moments!
Memory:Levicorpus- jinx that causes the victim to be hoisted into the air by their ankle.
Side effect:For the first four times this spell is cast, Derek will also find himself hoisted into the air by his ankles

Memory: Flagrate- a charm that allows one to write or draw in midair with fiery lines. The shape lingers for some time
Side effect: Any time Derek draws anything on paper, it will have the same effect! This will last for three days.

Memory: Liberacorpus- the counter-jinx to Libercorpus
Side Effect: For the next five spells, regardless of what they are, Derek will find himself falling to the ground in a heap.

Memory: TROLL IN THE DUNGEON memory from 1st year
Side effect: For the next week, Derek will hear the sound of voices in every direction alerting him to danger, even if it's very minor danger such as "your shoe is untied!" or "there's a car 50 feet away!" Little informative things like that, but all in the tone of something more drastic.

Memory: Confronting Dumbledore in the Astronomy tower and remembering he used the imperius curse on people
Side effect: For the next week after he remembers this, whenever Derek casts a spell, he'll find that his body will be out of his control and his spells may go awry.

Memory: Draco giving Harry parenting advice
Side effect:Derek will begin to feel strong paternal feelings for anyone younger than himself that he speaks to. These feelings will last for several days (probably no more than a week.)

Memory: The knowledge that Astoria died right before Scorpius's third year at Hogwarts, so when Scorpius is 13 and Draco is 39.
Side Effect: Upon remembering this, Derek will feel an intense, almost crippling sense of loss that he can't quite pinpoint. This will disappear over time. (a very mopey Derek)
• EVENT STUFF!
• I am open to Derek going to either Pasgare (maybe have him remember the bubble head charm) or having him go on the subway. He'd be more open to Pasgare as he has had less crazy experiences with it.

Basically, he's down to help with either Pesgare or the subway/colonization missions!

On the one hand, in Pesgare: he can get regains of being in Atlantis.

On the other hand, on the subway/colonization missions: he can get regains of being a space cop.

(On the other other hand, both of those were poorly written stories and idk if he should regain them at all.)

So all this to say, I'm down for basically anything!! As far as regains go, James can help trigger regains about war, assassination, child soldiers, mind control/brainwashing, cybernetics, and most recently: children/fatherhood (or at least haphazard attempts at it!)

Hi everyone! I'm Domon, new player here in the game and I've brought in Asuna Yuuki/Asami Yuuki with me! The SparkNotes version of Asami is that she's an actress who was one of the stars of a cheesy kids TV show called Fae Force Five... think Power Rangers but with fairies. While she does personal appearances in costume, she mainly came to town to try her hand at stage acting. Of course, she now realizes that she's got a lot more to adjust to than just moving to a strange new town.

A lot of her time is going to be spent trying to get settled in and desperately trying not to freak out over everything. Since she's new she won't yet have regained her Undine avatar's ability to breath underwater, but it wouldn't be shocking if she was drawn to the water regardless. Don't worry, she's had a few months of fencing lessons during her downtime from the show, she can totally fight off monsters!

When it comes to regains, Asuna struggles with her confidence and self image, tied in with a nice assortment of parental issues! She was also trapped in the death game Sword Art Online for over two years, so she's got a history with video games, swordsmanship and fighting, combat tactics, cooking, tailoring, being a prisoner and parenting (she has an AI daughter, long story). She's also responsible for at least one death in SAO, having killed a member of the Laughing Coffin guild during a raid on their hideout, and it's something I'd like to grapple with at some point since it's literally just casually mentioned and there never seem to be any reprecussions.

I really liked their TDM thread, so I'd definitely like to continue getting CR with her! I definitely want them to meet in person at some point at least.

Hello! Sam here with Lucy/Kaede, another oldbie character coping with the loss of a shitton of her CR. She hasn't been handling it terribly well, like Lucy tends to with all her problems, honestly. She's either been overworking herself, pacing aimlessly, or even more mopey than usual and barely able to leave the house to walk her dog. On top of that is learning that her past self was a) a fucking monster, and b) she's repeating the same things her past self did despite knowing about them, with a bonus c) of trying to not let anyone find out about it, because Lucy's terrified they'll leave her too. She does poorly with abandonment.

She'll likely show up in a number of places, though Pesgare is one she has more attachment to. She'll be a lot more mopey than usual around there, especially around a specific cafe or the ocean in general since both remind her of CR she's lost.

Lucy isn't certified for scuba gear but she has car-throwing telekinesis and is pretty comfortable with violent situations, if anyone needs combat assistance. Or help getting into locked doors, at least as long as they don't want to use said door again. That sort of thing.

Regains Lucy can help with include telekinetics (obviously), experimentation (though she wasn't on the receiving end of the worst of it), being chased by soldiers, and close encounters with death cults because of course there would be one.
