PLOT POST - FEBRUARY Welcome to Recollé! By the time you are reading this, you should have responded everywhere your acceptance comment requested you respond, but if you have not please be certain to follow the acceptance comment instructions! Access for posting and joining the network/log/meme communities will not be permitted until all paperwork has been completed. We are excited to bring you our first monthly plotting post! These posts will give you all the important event dates for the month (though you can always check those against our calendar, which is updated several months in advance and added to as needed). As a note, we do not list office hours on these posts but they can be found on the calendar proper. The plotting posts will also note any changes that occurred - such as our stock horses-are-chocobos example. The other use for these posts will be OOC monthly plotting. Please feel free to comment to these posts with your character's plans for the month or with what you would like to do for the month, and feel free to discuss those plans with everyone else! Please be certain to allow the mods time to put up the mod question thread, however, where you can direct any questions you have about the information on this post so that we can easily find it. As a friendly reminder as well, please be sure to tag your characters in any and all IC posts they participate in! We have created character tags for you upon your acceptance so you should be ready to go. These tags have been formatted as canon: character name, using your character's canon name. WORLD CHANGES As of February 3rd (i.e. when the event log goes live), all horses are now Chocobos, in both popular media and actuality. Before game start, characters will have found this perfectly normal. At game start, they will realize that they do in fact remember horses being a thing. Any NPCs questioned about this will react as though your character is being crazy. EVENTS Our first event log will go up on Friday, February 3rd. Please feel free to use the log and network communities prior to this event, although we do ask that players try to use the network mingle that should be live currently as a what's-going-on intro sort of thing. Please remember that Retrospec network usernames are your character's full real AU name regardless of preference or aliases they might be going by. These usernames cannot be changed currently. There's a lot to do, however, as lots of preparation goes into... ► ► ► FOUNDER'S DAY Characters will have heard sprinklings of conversation and buzzes of excitement about the upcoming Founder's Day celebration, annually held on February 3rd in honor of the settlers who founded the city of Recollé centuries ago. Every year the city joins together for a day of food, fun and frivolous shopping to celebrate this wonderful city. Here's some of what you can expect to find in the event log for this particular occasion: ► An opening statement by Mayor Mayer about the city. ► Lots of food stands and merchant tables in Chata. ► Sales of all kinds in varying boutiques and establishments in Tisse including a movie marathon at Flix and a Founder's Day special at Expressive Coffee House. ► "Pony rides" in Tribunal Terrace. ► The showcasing of the true pride and treasure of Recollé, the largest red ball of string in the world. ► There will also be a parade featuring the Queen and King of Founder's day and their court; you can sign your character up for being rng'd into one of those slots over here. RNG signups will close and be rolled at 11:30PM EST February 2nd. So what does this mean for you? Well, as characters might start to notice, things aren't always what they seem in the city… ► The ponies, of course, are now Chocobos. Guess that explains all of the weird noises from the trailers during set-up. That might be a bit of a problem. ► In fact, Mayor Mayer's prized Chocobo, Seabiscuit, is the biggest problem of all as she misbehaves and knocks Recollé's pride and treasure off of its pedestal and sends the ball rolling through the city, tangling up residents in string that can only be disassembled if you find the person on the other end of your line. As this is the first event for the game, we highly encourage everyone to participate in any fashion they so choose! Would your character be hosting a sale at one of the shops or food stalls? Perhaps they would try to tame the Chocobos in Tribunal Terrace. Why, your character could calmly accept their fate with the red string…or maybe they would panic and tangle even more people up in their line creating an even bigger mess. Your options are pretty endless! Of note, this log will function like our TDM in which we will have prompts for you but you are free to create your own as you see fit. Participation on the Founders' Day event log, be it in a toplevel or a thread with someone else with at least five comments from you, can earn you one "free" memory regain. To redeem that simply hit up our Regains page and supply a link to the qualifying thread as your explanation. These memories do not require a specific trigger as they are an event freebie. We highly encourage our players' creativity in choosing these memories, but if we feel that a memory has too much of an impact on your character to be obtained as a freebie, we may request a different memory regain in order to maintain game balance. As mentioned above, please feel free to comment to this post (and to each other) with your character's plans for the event and for the rest of the month for some early plotting and CR building. ngl Yuri will attend to the extent that he thinks he can get cheap to free food (and/or to check in on his friends, then promptly determine they're in good hands and check out again) but that said:

• if you want someone phone photo opping your red string entanglement fiasco, this kid will do it;
  
• if you're masochistic enough to want to end red stringed with him, let me know;
  
• but primarily i want to deal with being chased by and trying to wrangle at least one chocobo because who doesn't want that life?

overall I'll likely see what people have up and keep an eye on the retrospec community, but who knows, plans change, and i'm free this Friday so bring it all on!

LAUGHS consider it brought, bonus points considering it's apparently disassembling when you meet the person on the other end so if they just run into each other and bam! suddenly now they can work the knots out


stand back and wonder why it's so hard for everyone else LMAO NO BUT yes, happy to have this entanglement! i'm wondering if there'll be more of an idea on what disassembling looks like, but if we want to go for hilarity, it can be literally having to help untangle each other from a mess of string? or anything, tbh, we can play it by ear!

I love the idea of them having to untangle each other a lot for the pure hilarity. Plus Izuku is about as graceful as a bull in a china shop so that'll make things interesting.

Izuku keeps making it worse, Yuri's finally just don't freaking move leave him to figuring this out, he's the only one with grace here. Got it! I can toss us up a specific starter for this on the log once it's up on the weekend, if that's cool with you?
