AU AGE: 19. I'm inching it up a year because I messed up age math originally and it bothers my soul...
AU OCCUPATION: A college student in cinematography god save the world. He's still going to have ten million jobs! Specifically he's the a assistant manager at Sweet Stems (one of them? SOMEHOW?) and a waiter at the cat cafe. He also works at the movie theater solely because he can bother someone else who works there. I also want to give him more jobs for this because he's a dumb fuck so if you want a coworker just let me know and he's there.
BLURB:

• Dave Strider is now a 19-year-old kid who has lived in Recollé since he was 10, after moving with his family from Texas! He still has the accent.
• Unlike with his original AU, he doesn't have three siblings (I'm open to discussion but he's currently an only child; I prefer to work out close family relationships more in depth than "hmu" though!). I currently am planning to have him as the child of a single parent as well, probably a mother rather than a father but I haven't settled on which.
• He's still a decent student who turns in his work on time and doesn't skip classes. He sometimes falls asleep in classes, though. Also, his notes are absolute crap and no one should ever ask to copy them twice; Dave tends to just kind of note down anecdotes and weird trains of thought and he doodles a lot. Sometimes there are raps in the margins? Most of his "decent" notes come from copying them from friends after the fact. That said he likes science stuff and is actually really good at math. He is less good at English sometimes as he is accidentally too casual in English essays or leaves notes to himself about "fix this later" or "in 19whenever the fuck" and forgets to edit them, and Dave's grasp on metaphors is. Special. Sorry teachers.
• He also likes dead stuff, dinosaurs are Cool and so is archaeology? He's going to emphasize this one a little more along with his film stuff, although he's made several classic terrible home movies in rec already. He now collects dead things and dinosaur figures. Especially ugly dinosaur figures.
• Personality-wise Dave's fairly calm and easygoing with an eclectic mix of interests and an inability to carry on a conversation in a straight line.
• He still took dance and still doesn't get sports. Unfortunately understanding sports would simply be too wild an AU, always. Absolutely started up a dinosaur appreciation club in high school this time around, though. Join him in it and live the dream? Clearly college needs one too. Marathon the Rec version of the Land Before Time, which has like 19 billion sequels.

LOOKING FOR: I'd specifically like cousins and friends and coworkers! I'd especially like closer friends, since the ones his original AU had worked in are no longer around for the most part. I'm not opposed to siblings, but I'd prefer to keep Dave's last name and I'd want to discuss that more in depth/might prefer those to be permanent although I'm willing to discuss non-permanent things esp with closer CR; similarly I'm absolutely happy to work out other family connections not mentioned. I'm more loose and easy with other connections. I don't mind people he's dated previously although he's still dating John and like living with him and stuff and that's been a Thing for half a year. I'd really like to build in new CR; I was super busy most of this month with moving but I'm now moved so I can focus on new and old things again! I am down to discuss options with people who aren't keeping AUs and people who are alike.

• (Currently) an only child; Rose/Roxy/Dirk aren't a thing. Child of a single parent. MAYBE HAS OTHER FAMILY, let's find out.

BLURB: In this AU Isaac’s family history actually remains the same. He grew up the oldest of 7 children, the only boy, worked hard and worked under the table to provide for his family. The difference is he was more of a diligent student and got pretty good grades.

Thanks to his family status as well as experiences going abroad and such, he was accepted into a history program at the university on a full ride. He still got to travel, but this time his expenses were paid by scholarships and grants. He finished his masters’ degree at the age of 25 (he traveled a bit and did take a semester or two off of college for a break) and got a position teaching at the university where he’s also researching and working on his PhD.

Probably still obsessed with coins and still collects them. May have a fascination with pirates. Less fascinated with people’s random shit and more into the history of artifacts and the like. Basically, a giant nerd.

- Not much difference. He looks the same, but he dresses classier.
- I am being pressured to make sure Isaac has his school costume minus the science lab stuff. Maybe he wears a tail coat because idk.

- Moved to the US when she was young (~6) for her parents' careers, as they completed residency in the US and then stayed to practice
- Mom is an academic neurologist working with Recolle U's med school, dad is a community psychiatrist in Recolle
- Grew up always respecting her parents' work, but knowing that med school was too much for her to handle
- However, became interested in therapy as a field as it didn't require as intense training
- With this goal in mind, she's applied herself decently well in high school - she's still not the most academic individual, but she maintained at least B's in all her classes, so that's an improvement
- Applied to Recolle U and was accepted as a psychology major there, to start when the school year begins

LOOKING FOR: Friends would be the big one! Happy to keep her friends with people from her original AU or make friends with newer folk. Also open to distant family and past (or present) girlfriends/boyfriends.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU:
- Only child, rather than a twin
- Family is involved in medicine, rather than business
- More studious than her prior AU - still not a straight-A student, but at least she has a goal that she's applying herself toward, so she doesn't skip classes in this version
- Goal is to become a child psychologist, not an actress

- Currently a senior, and is now starting to worry about the practical applications of his major/what to do for a job post-graduation

LOOKING FOR: Family!!! He's an only child with no real close family members on here in his current AU, so having strong bonds like that would throw him off quite a bit once he reverts back. Friends, enemies, prior/current girlfriends, etc. are all also welcomed.

Also, I'm not very set on his AU in general, so open to ideas on what to do with it! I think I want to play with his age a bit, but otherwise was keeping it relatively simple. Even if it's tempting to think about how I would work him in as a cranky, 60s-year-old grandpa...

-He's very intelligent and knows it. Can be kind of a dick sometimes, but not much more than your average teenage boy.
-He likes video games and has been playing for a long time, and has aspirations of being a professional player someday. College sounds like such a pain...
-Has definitely told someone to git gud scrub.
-Popular in school. Good-looking, fairly charming with girls, has definitely had several girlfriends who have broken up with him for various reasons.

AU OCCUPATION: still a college student, communications and marketing major or something. works at Catmosphere Cafe and Unstoppable.
BLURB:

- Ren comes from a rather large family of thieves, including their relatives. However, they try not to be in too close contact, just to make sure not all of them falls when one does. Currently, Daisuke Niwa (sketchythief) is his cousin...
- So this is why Ren's family travels quite often, picking up and leaving without a trace. They bounced from cities in Japan to other countries, stealing fine jewels, paintings, etc. They're quite popular, showing up on international news when they steal something Big. at the time, their alias was "Ater" as a group, though other family members chose different ones entirely.
- Ren is raised normally until he was probably 8-9 where his parents told them about their legacy and how he'll be joining him on their life escapade. Most of his free time, rather than focusing on friends and hobbies, is developing skills that would be useful for crime.
- It's okay, he still picked up normal hobbies like a normal kid because what kind of child wants to only learn how to steal stuff. His hobbies are completely the same: mobage, building models, making props, watching movies, etc.
- Since his focus is elsewhere, he didn't care too much about whatever bullying he had from moving around. His outlook on life is a lot more casual and less stiff, seeing people as passing instances but not caring too much about how much of an impact he has on the world.
- Eventually, his parents move to Recolle where they've lived somewhat normal lives while planning to steal from the museum during a grand premiere of an exhibit. Ren decided and told his parents that he won't be participating from then and onward.
- His parents got caught because a confidant snitched and are both in prison for a couple of years until they can prove they're Ater and are behind the other heists across the world (which will put them in prison for Some Time).
- well.... this is fine? Ren is living his best without his parents, calling and visiting them once in a while. They promise they'll be out in no time, but it has made him heavily consider what kind of life he wants to lead.
- The news are running with theory that the couple are part of Ater and it might be a bigger organization overall, so school life for Akira has been hard... he easily ignores it thanks to his cat.
- He still has Morrigan, his cat, and works at Catmosphere Cafe because the manager is a friend of his parents.
- His friendships made in Recolle during high school will stay!

LOOKING FOR: people that would even... try to befriend him knowing his parents are criminals? people that get on their high horse about his family being a group of criminals. life hurts. i will also take a guardian! his parents have some friends in Recolle that they may have confided their plans for assistance or just hid their intentions completely. prob a therapist...........

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: i literally changed everything, but gave a different reason for Ren's family moving place to place and how he feels ie his desolate childhood.

Personality wise, Ren is less open about his humor (overall also more withdrawn) and doesn't care too much about reaching out to strangers and acquaintances as much as Akira. He's mostly focused on getting his life together, though bitter about how hard it is with the media gobbling up his family's story. Overall, he's kind of the same to those close to him, though a lot more blunt.

On top of that, he doesn't idealize Joker, but thinks he's a cool dude. His sense of identity is a lot more stable, at least until his original au memories come into play.

SUCCEED/FAIL: HALF-FAIL. Akira and Daisuke will be cousins!

LOOKING FOR: She has a sister, but I'm open to friends, people from a similarly poor economic situation, people she's beat up or intimidated, people who come to her for odd jobs or want their bikes fixed.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Kara is going to be coming from a bad neighborhood and so is a bit more downtrodden and apathetic, definitely not the earnest, optimistic, and eager researcher out to help the world that she was. She's younger, and she's more prone to violence and is all too happy to tell a cop to fuck off. Still a nice person, looking out for her people. has probably only been in this particular neighborhood a year or so, moved to make sure her sis had a shot at a better life. An image!

BLURB: Akutagawa is an only child; after his parents' passing, he was sent to live with a distant relative in the countryside. They never grew too close, and Akutagawa was a shy boy in his youth. His social life wasn't exactly an exciting one; he was homeschooled, and didn't get along well with the few neighbors he did have. He spent more time getting into fights with them than anything.

By the time he was old enough to begin attending high school, he was a cold and short-tempered boy, but he was just as awkward and reserved as well. Because of his being difficult to approach, making friends and spending time with other people wasn't something he was very good at, even now. To remedy this, his no-name relative decided to send him to public school in the nearby city in order to hopefully improve his chances of being less of a pain-in-the-ass human being.

Despite already spending a year in high school, he still feels like a fish out of water. An unintentionally mean, rude fish out of water who spends most of his time in the library and frequently ditches P.E. class. He's doing his best though, okay!!!

LOOKING FOR: classmates!! people attempting to make friends with him especially, with varying levels of success. pretty much anyone you'd find in your usual slice-of-life high school animanga. people from his really early childhood/before his parents died and he moved?? rivals?? crushes?? i don't remember what else there is usually but you know what i'm talking about.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: he is no longer an adult idol, which is a pretty big change! the bsd twitter has some cute art of him & the cast as high schoolers, so that's where i'm going with this. he's not so mean or rude or awful and won't threaten to kill you/your dog. he's still a dick though, so don't get your hopes up TOO much.

BLURB: Annalise Lehmann has been attending Recolle University since 2009 working towards her PhD in history. She's been a diligent student this entire time, working to follow in her parents' footsteps and become the latest way for the Lehmann family to continue their studies. Her professors love her, her other students respect her, and she could not give less of a shit about the world around her. She keeps to herself; everything that's not meant to further her studies is useless. Retrospec is an annoyance that nobody else needs to know she's on. The only reason people are aware of her being on the app is because of her complaints about her sources being lost and how she can't ruin historical texts by painting them, are you insane?
LOOKING FOR: Fellow students, especially other doctoral students who might know her as the girl who's kept her nose to the grindstone for years and inadvertently been kind of an asshole to everyone around her. Other people involved with or interested in the military whom she might have reached out to for academic purposes. Professors?

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Her relationship with her parents never deteriorated, she never dropped out of college, and she's overall very, very happy with how she's been helped along in her life. She doesn't have any exes, she's probably never gotten involved with the Geteilts beyond surface level, and if anybody sees her outside her dormitory then it should be treated with the same gravity as a cryptid sighting. Annalise (and never Anna, I should say) is also a lot more well-off; she dresses sharply, she wears glasses (these glasses, specifically), and none of her clothing has holes in it. Fuckin' weird, right? Oh, yeah, also she doesn't swear.

- he's actually gonna be from a line of thieves this time. Cousin is Ren Amamiya (maskreant). Daisuke's mother is from Ren's family while his father is not.
- his parents stuck with smaller heists in a countrywide scale rather than ren's parents at a global scale. they used the name "nitor" for their heists.
- despite being from a family of thieves, daisuke's parents decided to let the thieving part stop with them and raised daisuke with relatively normal standards for parenting. the main part that's skewed in daisuke's pov is that it's completely normal for parents to do stuff late at night with heists being the idea of a romantic date. not that he thinks it's romantic anyway...
- then they heard about ren's parents getting caught in recolle. they weren't too close in case one of the families had fallen, but they were kindly alerted to not come to recolle.
- however, when daisuke said that he wanted to be an artist, his parents sent him off to recolle for him to live independently with a child of their friend. thus, daisuke moves into recolle with makoto naegi. they felt bad for Ren and thought it would have been okay to send daisuke over there because of different surnames and stuff.
- everything else is basically the same? daisuke had tried to look for ren for the longest time EXCEPT HE DIDNT KNOW WHERE HE LIVED.

LOOKING FOR: more friends would be nice? I'm not looking for anything in particular, but I'm always up for more cr!

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Daisuke is actually from a line of thieves and will be cousins with Ren. He'd also be a lot more jittery if criminal topics are brought up and he'd probably be a bit more relaxed against the idea of stealing stuff. He'd also be a lot less reluctant in trying things out like actually using his retrospec-gained thievery skills for... a variety of things. He's still a good kid overall and still sucks at lying.

His canon memories would mess him up though.

She graduated from the Dojo at a still relatively young age and has gone on to have a ton of success both in Japan and in Recolle, where she is the current Women's Champion of the local indie promotion that I haven't come up with a name for yet.

- FAMILY. THIS IS A BIG ONE. May had no traditional family, but Satsuki absolutely does and it has made a world of difference
- FELLOW ATHLETES. I haven't decided if she went to school in Japan or in Recolle and just spent time in Japan at the dojo, but anyone that participated in athletics with her (particularly wrestling) would be awesome

Instead, he takes an interest in medicine (due to his brother's condition). He ends up gravitating towards oncology and thus the type of residency he has. His dating life is almost non-existent. He tries, but being a resident takes a lot of time. He never did high school theater. His cat Blaise actually likes people.

• Her public reception is generally positive. She has a strong social media following, and she frequently vlogs to be able to talk to her fans about anything from the things she ate that day to sadder, more self-conscious thoughts. She's very down-to-earth as far as idols go, and believes that idols should be able to reject the business culture that requires them to be pure, innocent, and sexually inexperienced. She herself is public about her relationship with her boyfriend.
• Personality-wise, she's still cheerful, sweet, and kind, but she's a lot more relaxed. With less serious responsibilities than Recollé!Minako, she's a much calmer person in general, more carefree and go with the flow instead of being a Leader. She's more willing to put other things to the side to take care of herself.
• Recollé is only a pit stop for her. While she likes it well enough and of course wants to help it go back to normal, it's not home. (If there is a place in the US she considers home, it would be Los Angeles or New York.) So she'll be less hands on about anything that comes up event wise.
• She draws as a hobby! She hopes to one day publish a short manga series.
• She's a bit of an anime/manga nerd, which is part of the reason for the drawing hobby. Idol!Minako cosplays as characters she's voiced in animes and video games.
• Red pandas are her mascots. She has a lot of red panda plushes sent to her by fans.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Minako and Minato didn't get separated after their parents died. Instead, they both went to their grandparents and enjoyed a happy and emotionally healthy childhood together. (Crazy, I know.) Minako got scouted to become an idol pretty early on in middle school, and by the time she finished high school, she was official and well-known. Now she's famous enough that she regularly gets invited to conventions in the US for concerts. She was in Recollé for one such concert when Retrospec suddenly happened, and now that she's stuck, she's taking classes at the university for fun to kill time.

• Sorey is Sora's brother, and thus also her cousin.

Her Retrospec memories are going to unsettle her more as well, because she's had fewer trials in her life.

- Surprise! He's pretty okay at it because he's dead inside and doesn't care about how unpleasant people are, because it kind of amuses him. He works at JoAnn's and helps out with giving advice on sewing and even part of knitting group.
- Most of the “friends” he has are old ladies but eh, when a person has no ambition and filled with emptiness, he doesn't really care. They give him the best sort of gossip about what is going on, so he has his information line.
- Also runs an advice-column blog on the side. The advice is generally “good” but the person leaves feeling worse than when they had first come to ask him anything.
- Also, also, has a small Etsy-shop where he cross-stitches insulting phrases. Like this one. He gets a good amount of revenue from that, modern youths are into that sorta thing. But also, this is what he makes in his knitting/cross-stitch group anyway so it isn't really a livelihood thing as it is, "I have nowhere to put all these things I create, buy them if you want them."
- Still a highly-religious nerd but now a highly-religious nerd that sews Biblical verses into pillows and tea cozies.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Everything sans his name, family situation, and age. He's more or less how Kei was when he first came to be on the app; there is a distinct lack of malice from him now. Think of how Fate/Carnival Phantasm Kirei is and that's how he is in this AU-version. Which is significantly different from Kirei and how Kei is at present.

BLURB: A child actor who rose to fame through film, currently has a gig in Recollé shooting an on-location show called "Sky of Birds" which is a restaurant drama featuring an ensemble cast, of which he is a member. He plays the newbie/audience viewpoint character, and the show itself has a lot of strangely escalating drama that still manages to be heartwrenching even though from the synopsis one would think it would actually be trite and silly. He does all of this under his acting persona as Kestrel Blade, and under that name he's established himself on social media as a fashion blogger who's friendly and quick to respond to fans. Known for sporting long, self-dyed and styled hair in an assortment of colors depending on his whim, and equally eccentric clothes that he still manages to pull off.

On the side, he studies as a finance student at university and disguises his looks with a mussy brown wig and ratty clothes that scream poor college student. With no reason to be friendly, he just acts grumpy towards others, though he's got a mischievous side as well.

He has either a daughter or a much younger half-sister who is in his care for some reason or another. Otherwise, his pre-CR remains the same as far as he recalls.
LOOKING FOR: Either an adopted daughter or half-sister in his care! Other actors who may know him through work (in the industry, he tends to be uninterested in other actors and more dedicated to shmoozing with the execs), other students who may know him from uni!

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU: Just that he now has either an adopted daughter or half-sister he's caring for. Otherwise, he's basically his original AU and will remember things as such.

In this version of events, Miai is still a lion tamer from the circus! And he still loves the circus and his cats dearly. However, he joined the circus under orders, more or less. Miai is in truth both a preacher and missionary for a Catholic sect which functions more akin to a cult.

There's no church branch in Recolle however, and while he initially was allowed to come here for, well, missionary work, he's not being particularly dutiful about that for. reasons. his inactivity is weighing on his conscience, but anyway. He's still heavily religious, and deeply involved ... or he would be, but it doesn't seem he can contact anything outside Recolle very well. Good for char dev, huh,

(Basically, Miai's backstory and general personality remains the same, but his religious involvement is added and emphasized. He's available to be shady if anyone desires, either individually or as a representative of his sect if you want to have had prior involvement with it.)

LOOKING FOR:
In additional to the usual (friends, people to pester, people who can't stand him but he sticks around anyway, flings)— religious individuals; people who may have had past involvement with the sect, like either knowing it exists, maybe had a bad brush with it, maybe investigated it if you're part of law enforcement, maybe at one point almost converted, may have borrowed money from it and now they're after you like loan sharks, idk, anything is good with me. Miai isn't a top dog or anything but he's pretty up there and representative of them in some ways, so he may act as an avatar of them in some interactions, or he may be someone you happen to know or have heard of as some sort of position-holder.

Also, just in general, religion buddies who want to chat philosophy and beliefs and the state of nature of man and sin etc ^^// Miai loves these kinds of pretentious intellectual discussions and analyses, and he doesn't like, outwardly diss on other people's faith; if anything, he's quite fascinated by other people's systems of beliefs.

CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL AU:
In brief, Miai's AU is going to retain his original Recolle backstory, but add on the sketchy religious involvement! I feel it's better parallels Miai's canon iteration and rounds out his original AU \^^/ In long:

Things that are the same:
- Miai was born to the affluent but strict Garyuus; ended up close with his mother, who was deeply religious, so he ended up attending Catholic church (attended Recolle's church, which was the next town over or so where the Garyuu's lived)
- Mother eventually passed away, Miai threw himself more deeply into religious activities
- Got into a fight with his older brother, Kyouya/Klavier, and ran away on a whim
- Takes shelter for one or two days in a local Catholic church, doesn't want to come home because he's afraid of the angry/worried texts he got from Kyouya

Things that are different:
- Instead of finding job and lodging with Cirque Angelique, which had been in town, right away, he ends up taking shelter in the sect's Catholic church, and they sucked him in easy and, by his request, shipped him off to another branch elsewhere
- Fell pretty deep into their doctrine and teachings
- Stuff happened, eventually employed as a missionary, he probably suggested the circus himself (because, like his current Recolle self, he is partial to it), his suggestion was accepted since he was loyal enough
- Cirque Angelique was the circus he saw in his childhood, and also useful because it did statewide and international tours. May have also had a lot of sponsors from the sect ? ? ? So. Half the circus might have been kind of shady, and they usually stopped around cities/towns with sect church branches there with the intent of increasing their believer count. oh this is getting edgy
-- half the circus members were like genuine good people though they are Innocent
- Travels around, converts people, moves up the ranks, etc etc, might have been eventually "discovered" as a "voice of god" or something similarly fricky, false prophet stuff
- I need to come up with the sect name and its specific doctrines, but I'll do that at a more reasonable time of day (looks blearily into the night sky)

And then, like Recolle canon, Kyouya invites Miai to come to Recolle, and due to Reasons as stated Miai kind of. finds a way to be allowed to come. He's probably in real trouble for not contacting the church consistently but that's technically not his fault (rushes an explanation really fast in 90 seconds before the line cuts out)............ But he's still working at Chabana et al; this addition adds additional. content. to his current interactions and backstory, but doesn't change anything about what Miai is doing in Recolle right now (or him being an annoying, flirty pest outwardly- there are Reasons)

SUCCEED/FAIL:
Fail! Since this is a modification of his original backstory, he won't be losing anything from pre-Recolle or from inter-Recolle development. This is just extra stuff added on to compliment his current Recolle development and make Miai more faithful (haha) to Eichi's canonical imagery/development/etc etc
